Yay Whiskey!
I recently tried Hudson Baby Bourbon, a small batch out of New York....It was completely over-hyped to me. Price is a bit out of line for what it is.
Blanton's and Woodford Reserve is literally half the price and I think I like them both better.

Agreed 100%. With a splash of ginger ale it almost took on a creamsicle taste. Which was better, but definitely not worth the price anymore if you're mixing it.
I'm still a fan of Buffalo Trace in bang for the buck I think.
My fly tying essentials
I'm halfway through this;
I had some of their low grade stuff previously (below) which did not impress me at all, but this small batch is very good. I'd give it a 7 out of 10 for value/flavor.
Everytime I take a worktrip and stay in Kentucky, everyone tells me to get some whiskey across the street.

yeah - it's a good thing I don't live in Louisville any longer... I would weigh 300 lbs by now if I was in driving distance to this.
A few miles shouldn't stop you
that's a 3 hour drive.
Actually between the wife's love of horses, my love of bourbon and the fact it's not that far away - I'm surprised we haven't taken a weekend trip down there for some stable and distillery tours.
Make sure you see the stables first because you know you'll never make it otherwise.
I'd end up laying down in the hay and taking a nap.
See honey - it's an immersive experience. Says so right here in the brochure.
