Ads are so omnipresent on the internet they dont even bother me, honest-to-god I virtually instinctively tune them out I'm so used to them, so I dont even run an ad blocker.

But are there ancillary benefits to running ad blockers, like does the prevention of certain ads displaying speed-up load times? If that's the case I'd consider it.

Basically all IT Security professionals recommend ad blockers because of the tracking cookies/other malicious code some lesser vetted ads can spread.

Also, the less that has to load on your screen, the faster you'll navigate.

What the hell is this, took me hours to get logged back in lol, gonna take a while to get used to it. Needs more of a delineation between posts and quote boxes need to be grayed out as well so you can see them.

I suppose I'll get used to it over time. Certainly too bad that the layout hadn't really changed much since the previous update in 2002.
HF is now blocked on the wi-fi network where I work because of "Adult Content".

Maybe ~10 years ago, I got the same warning at work. I liked to think that my IT kept track of those warnings and kept thinking like "Man, this guy keeps trying to look this stuff up at 9am."

No doubt.

Man at least give us like a theme option to go back to the old site, or at least change up the color scheme ourselves. It is also hard to tell what threads have new posts or that I have read everything.

The bold thread title is unread/new posts in a thread. Wasn't the old site the same way?

Can only assume HF contracted with Adidas in some capacity during this website overhaul.

Functionality is okay, but colors/aesthetics need some serious work to make this easy to navigate and differentiate posts.

My biggest issue isn't the appearance, something's different on the new host where now the f***ing site is blocked by my works IT system. Its now considered "mixed use/potentially adult". Been on this site for 7 years at this company without any issue. And I cant possibly be the only one with this problem.

He's referring to the "skin"(or the old format/appearance prior to the unwanted change).

I was once part of a wrestling forum that changed its appearance(and looked horrible) but gave users the option to get back that old style again.

I really wish they'd do the same here.
