I know many of you see this as a big week, as do I. However, even with 3 wins this week and losses by the RAngers and Fylers there is still a long way to go. We need at least 9 wins in the final 15 games to be comfortable (or 18 pts I could say). 20 pts and I think we're in the top 3. Wins against Philly and the NYR are huge.

What I'm worried about is a stumble like they had against Buffalo or NJ or Carolina. The Rangers have the easiest schedule by far so we need to get the points now and beat them. Carolina, Detroit, NYR, Carolina... All need to be 2 pts without giving up any. We should also be able to beat NYI, FLA, MON. Steal a few more points and we're golden.

From when I originally looked at this we are progressing on plan. Problem is Philly has awakened and the Rangers are winning just enough to keep pace.

Obviously we have to beat the Rangers & Philly to get a bit of a cushion. Philly has a tough road to hoe and the Rangers are inconsistent. Going to be a heckuva ride.

Okay....I'll save my whining about the Penguins pathetic performances against Philly and frankly everyone in our division by us/Washington. Fair???

I'm not telling you what to do, just agreeing with the GM about how he looks at it. I'm as pissed as you about the Pens getting waxed by the Flyers!

NY Rangers have Ottawa (H&H), @Calgary, @Edmonton, @ Vancouver, Carolina and Buffalo on their schedule. All should be considered high probability wins (although I do realize the Rangers aren't playing great hockey at the moment.

They also have a few toss ups - @ CBJ, , @NJ (I might consider this a high probability win at this point), Phoenix, Philadelphia and @ Montreal

With only one game I would view them as the clear underdog - @ Colorado

I could see 14-19 points out of that schedule. That's what scares me about the Rangers. I want home ice advantage with the Rags ending up 3rd. I think they are a great matchup for Columbus.

It starts to get iffy at 94. 95 and above and we should be good. Problem I see is that with the recently added Dallas back/back we now have to start Mcbackup in 4 of those games. Not that we can't win but it makes the team in front of him work even harder. This coming week with MTL and NYR is a perfect example. Guessing MacB goes against MTL and Bob goes against NYR. Jackets will have to play out of their rear end in MTL to garner points. NYR will be rested and Bob will have to pick up the tired legs on Friday.

I have not looked yet to see how many b2bs there were to end the season last year, but Bob did play ever game from the deadline till the end of the season.

The only start the rest of the year I might give McBackup would be in Long Island. After that, got to ride #72

Here's the last 22. What do you think. It looks tough to me. If someone gets hot it better be us because I don't see us much better than we have been. Assuming we play like we have been, that projects to 89 pts. One thing we have going for us is a game or two in hand over all teams except Detroit.

I think the key is to improve the defense/goaltending back to the level it was during last year's run. I believe that was due in large part to momentum and right now we don't have it on D. Also I remember a couple of clutch late game goals.

It would be nice if playoff mode Horton would show up-to me he's a bit of a disappointment so far;and a hot streak by Gabby would help also.

Bob needs to be more like Vezina Bob than this season Bob.

The ride begins tonight against a team we have collectively trounced 11-2. Of course we had dominated the Devils prior to last week.

Gonna be a heck of a ride. I hope.

Thanks!

Gotta ride him till the end.

Not so sure about that. There has been a noticeable drop-off (to me at least) when we have tried to run him in those 3 in 4 night stretches.

There are a couple of games I might run McBackup over the next 3 weeks. Maybe Montreal this week, maybe the next Carolina game. Perhaps sacrifice him to Chicago on the 4th. If there is nothing on the line then the Florida game to end to the season would work. We'll probably get McBackup in a game or two during that last 4 games.

During the playoffs; the workload is fine for Bob.

Definitely sacrifice him to Chicago and Pittsburgh at home. Sucks for the fans but no need to dick around here. Play Bob against the higher probability win on the back to back nights.
