Ugh this Revere hitting leadoff is a thing isn't it

Since when do you have to have a power guy or your best hitter at the top? By that logic we should have had Donaldson hitting lead off all season instead of Reyes. More ABs, right? Why don't the Yankees put Teixera at lead off then?

Just because it's the way it's always been done doesn't mean it's the best option.

I don't mind taking a look at it.

Revere is hot and seems to really get the whole idea of "just get on" in front of the killers coming up.

I liked Tulo at lead off because they didn't really have a lead-off kind of guy and he's one of their better hitters, so give him the at-bats.

However, I did start to wonder if Tulo was going up there thinking: "I need to get on in front of these guys" instead of thinking: "I need to drive the ball, hard, somewhere."

you're not going to do it based on what he did last season. You're going to do it based on what he does this season. If he comes back and pitches in a couple games the way he did last year then he's a better option than everyone we have except Price.

It will depend on what he does this year, and I expect him to pitch well based on what we've heard about his rehab. If that changes then my playoff rotation will change

I have no troubles with him being there if he comes back before playoffs and is back to his old self and pitching well I just don't like how everyone is expecting this as I would rather have the conservative approach and let him get into the groove and maybe be a BP guy for the playoffs and worry about being a starter next season. Granted he 100% wants to be a starter as he wants to compete but I would rather him be lights out for the rest of his career than him have his confidence shattered this year due to not having his timing/speed he is used to.

I survived. I really only watched it to see the Jays highlights which were buried in the show half way or more through.

To each their own, I get that and to be fair I hated them when they were here as well.
I prefer to just watch highlights to find out what I missed during the day(always loved the Score). To me a nightly highlight show isn't the place for lame comedy, they could just dedicate a 1/2 hour show to that.

well sorry for trying to make things fun for ya mr. buzzkill

"Aches and pains" and being tired at the end of August mean "arm falling off?" Okay...

Or, he's just tired and worn down.

He's never not pitched 200 innings in a year. And he's having his best season as a Blue Jay. And for the first time in several years every time he takes the mound it's a big game. There is a mental grind to think about as well.

There is no need to over analyze some innocuous comments.

He's 36. It's a long season. He's tired. It's perfectly okay.

It's too bad Travis is injured because he would be great at the top of the lineup.

Travis
Josh
Jose
EE
Tulo
Smoak
Martin
Pillar
Revere

That is one tough lineup.

in the playoffs defense is more important than offense and goins is a defensive stud while travis is average defensively and why help our lineup when its amazing? (u can say that bout the defense but playoffs tho-defense comes 1st)

So it's August 31 and just Addison Reed has moved. AA must be channeling his inner Dikembe Mutombo and blocking the hell out of the Yankees. You'd think they'd do something after the Jays surprised them by eating up their division lead in basically two weeks.

Do you not know the meaning of hyperbole? I luv hyperbole. Also, its relevant if we're comparing two players, and when brurhle has had deadarm issues as early as late in the previous season.

I missed the Estrada debate. I think he'll be tremendous in the Yusmeiro Petit role this post-season. Especially if someone has geared their lineup to face Buehrle (righty heavy).

Petit was easily the most valuable pitcher on the world series champions not named Bumgarner.

I keep forgetting today is the trade deadline (although, not really, they can still acquire players - just anybody they got couldn't be used in the playoffs).

I wonder if AA is going hard for another leftie reliever? Seems like the only thing the team is "missing." :)

is that all possible matches included? cuz the wild card+alds(max 5 games)+alcs and ws(max 7 games) equals 20 games so 6 starts seems 1 too much for a 4 man rotation or 1 to little for a 3man rotation,no?

Pretty much teams don't really use a 3 man rotation anymore and might not use one until the WS.

You probably wouldn't see Price start more than 6 games in the playoffs. The max he would pitch in a divisional series is 2 starts, only 1 start if he pitches in the wildcard play-in game.

If he starts 2 divisional series games, he's only going to start 2 alcs games. If he only started 1 alcs game he could start 3 WS games but at the end it would only be 6 starts. He could start 2 in each series which would be 6 as well.

AA can't block any Yankee moves if they choose to make one.
