I just spent the past week in the US and the Jays got very little mention that I saw. I was forced to listen to Jay Onrait and Dan O'Toole for highlights. Hard to imagine but they are even dumber in the US than they were while in Canada.

Met lots of Yankee fans though, that was fun.

I can't even begin to imagine the pain that you must have had to go through.

No you go with the guy who is going to give you the best chance to win.

Yeah and while I love Stroman and believe he will be a Ace or #2 pitcher in the future I dislike the fact he has not pitched a game this season and refuse to pencil him into our playoff starting rotation of all things just because of what he did last season.

I always liked them, but I wondered how their act would translate in the US without much hockey coverage.

I always liked that they were a bit different from the typical talking heads on sports TV and that they didn't take themselves too seriously.

Even all world pitcher Madison Bumgarner only got 4 postseason starts unless you want to count the wildcard play-in game as another start for 5. The most starts a pitcher could conceivably make in the playoffs is 6.

is that all possible matches included? cuz the wild card+alds(max 5 games)+alcs and ws(max 7 games) equals 20 games so 6 starts seems 1 too much for a 4 man rotation or 1 to little for a 3man rotation,no?

you're not going to do it based on what he did last season. You're going to do it based on what he does this season. If he comes back and pitches in a couple games the way he did last year then he's a better option than everyone we have except Price.

It will depend on what he does this year, and I expect him to pitch well based on what we've heard about his rehab. If that changes then my playoff rotation will change

Anyway, the lineup today. Revere leading off again

stroman has been great this year, how can you keep him out of the rotation :sarcasm:

dem :sarcasm: do

but stroman was fantastic last year so he might retake that form

personally i would shut him down for this season and make him focus on next season when he's 100% healthy, like travis and saunders

jays do have a lot of pitchers and they're bullpen will get a boost with hutchison

Dickeys been better this year. Also beurhle's arm is about to fall off.

????

Dickey has been terrific since June, but he was awful in April/May. Buerhle has pretty much been himself all season.

In fact, his numbers this year are better than his career averages. All-in-all, he's having his best season as a Blue Jay.

If having your best year in three means your arm is about to fall off, okay...

I can't even begin to imagine the pain that you must have had to go through.

I survived. I really only watched it to see the Jays highlights which were buried in the show half way or more through.

I always liked them, but I wondered how their act would translate in the US without much hockey coverage.

I always liked that they were a bit different from the typical talking heads on sports TV and that they didn't take themselves too seriously.

To each their own, I get that and to be fair I hated them when they were here as well.
I prefer to just watch highlights to find out what I missed during the day(always loved the Score). To me a nightly highlight show isn't the place for lame comedy, they could just dedicate a 1/2 hour show to that.

i'd take buehrle over dickey any day. he's consistenly been better over his career
Dickey is pitching better right now. Past is irrelevant in this case.

We've got Price, then everyone else. IMO, the next month should determine the 2-3-4. Nothing is a given, especially Stroman. Some guys take a few starts to find their game. We don't have time for that. We need the top 4 guys come October 10th or whatever it is.
