For those who watch the NFL, the best comp that comes to mind when I see Slaf is Josh Allen.

The guy had bad stats in College at Wyoming, but you look at that size, speed and canon arm and just think « omg if he can figure out just a few things, this guy will be a superstar ».

Allen ?

More like Juraj Slafktomsbrady

The Sesame Street line

This is it boys. We found it.

LOL

While the picture is hilarious and I get the whole premise, I just can't see Suzuki as a "Bert" although the other two seem apropos.

Also I love Slaf, but there's only one Big Bird, and that's Larry. He needs his own moniker due to proper respect for Mr. Robinson.

Juraj Snuffleupagus? :sarcasm:

He's a creature as mythical as a unicorn...

it’s amazing how much time and space Slaf makes for himself because of his size and strength. He’s literally able to fight of defenders long enough to take his time to look for a play. Reminds a little of Draisaitl in that way.

If Slafkovsky learns how to slow the game down and freeze defenders with his unpredictability, he will be a PPG player.

So he only has a chance at two:
20 goals and all-star team. No bonuses for all-bust team.

I wouldn’t say no chance at 60 points; unlikely is more accurate with the way he’s playing. The way he’s shooting the last 5-6 games is going to open up more space for Caufield to start scoring, we could see that line go on a real fun for a bit.

Edit: run*

No reason to not get carried away.

1st overall pick, 1% athleticism, 22 points in his last 24 games with some nasty snipes, nasty cross ice passes and impressive dipsy doodle. That's also with great two way play, insane forechecking and 45 hits along the way.

He is a unicorn and a franchise level talent. He will be a winger in the caliber of the prime Kovalchuk, Rick Nash, Hossa.

I will get carried away as far as he brings us. Not sorry to be very excited by the best forward we have had in decades. Agree on Roy.

It’s really crazy because we’re a fanbase that were starving for players like those in their primes. How excited we were about the Hossa gloves rumours and then the let down when he didn’t sign with us. We deserve to have a pick that turns into a superstar, we paid our dues.

Well we had Price and Subban who were major star. I would say to a lesser extent Markov.

It is truly a different feeling and way more fun when it is a forward tho.

Anyone who would think Subban was a bigger star than Markov doesn't know hockey. Markov was one of the most underrated players of his generation. Fans appreciated him but I don't think management ever really did.
Underrated and star don't go hands in hands. Being a star is about popularity not skills. Many star actors are bad, Subban was definitely a bigger star than Markov.

No one cares
Markov was a legit star. Easy top 5 most underrated player of his generation.
The General was my favorite hab during his era, I don't think we had a smarter defender than Markov. If he was part of some of those 80's teams his jersey number might be hanging in the rafters. That man made plenty of D partners look better than they were. The franchise disrespected him by not getting him to 1000 games in a habs jersey.

Markov got hurt alot in his prime, and he was on the cusp of some pretty significant team record at the end of his tenure that would have laid some attention on him.

He just never really got his flowers, but it felt like he was really close to getting them.

But that's Markov for you. I don't think he was too interested in the limelight.

I'm gonna up the ante a little bit here and say that he is going to become the best forward from Slovakia since Peter Stastny. Better than Hossa, Gaborik, Palffy, Demitra, Bondra.

It's what I thought since his draft year, but now I am confident enough to post this prediction.
At his best Marian was likely a top 5 player in the league

Theodore was rock star status for a while, and I'm guessing he lived it too.

He got significantly worse coming out of the year long lockout though.

Markov was Lidstrom lite until those injuries. Incredibly smart player offensively and defensively. The record without him was abysmal.
