Two homes games against the Leafs and Tampa. I think both the Leafs and Tampa start turning it up at that point as its the end of the year and by then the lightning turn the corner and by then the leafs start to develop some chemistry with all the turnover they have had.

More likely Toronto is playing it safe making sure they are energized and healthy for the playoffs. They don't need the best regular season record they can get. They will be eyeing game 1 of the playoffs the last couple weeks of the season.

Ottawa is 2-1 against Boston... Bostons only win was at home and the sens were on a back to back and was a tight game shots were 32-31... You sure ya got the right team?
If the sens find a way to get in which is a long shot. Boston is clearly a large favorite but your statement isn't very accurate about this season thus far.
You beat us in game one when we had 3 of our top 4 defenseman (McAvoy, Carlo, Gryz) plus Marchand out, furthermore Swayman arguably had the worst game of his career. In game 2 Talbot had over 50 saves and people have said it was one of the best games he has ever played in his career and the Sens won in a shootout. In game 3 the Bruins actually played Ullmark and won. I would argue that the Bruins would have won all 3 games if Ullmark had played in them, he is a true difference maker and the Sens would be seeing him come playoff time. As for my comment on the Bruins not " breaking a sweat " what I meant is that the Sens take these games far more seriously then the Bruins, everyone has been coming at Boston guns ablazing because of their record, hard for the Bruins to match the intensity against the lower lights, they still win most of those games because they are far superior. However come playoff time you can be assured that Boston will match the Sens intensity and make quick work of them.

We had Kevin Mandolese (?) in net for Game #3, and were missing two of our top 4 (Sanderson and Chychrun).

We've also been missing last season's #1C (Josh Norris) over the entire season.

Yes, we get that the Bruins are great but everyone has excuses.

With that schedule, if they make it, they'll surely have worked for it and earned it...and no one is going to want to play a team on that kind of tear going into the playoffs. It might not be quite as stark as the Kings or Blues post-deadline pushes but in a tough conference getting that kind of points roaring down the stretch would be pretty terrifying for others and encouraging/confidence building for the Sens. TThat kind of experience playing meaningful games will be great for them regardless, hope it goes down to the wire at the very least

I think the real lesson we can take from this is that nothing bad has ever happened to President's Trophy winners, and we should probably just cancel the playoffs.

They have some late season games in April. One Toronto, one Tampa, two Carolina that might be easier than they normally should be.

The hardest stretch should be March 14->March27: Oilers, Avs, Leafs, Pens, Bruins, Lightning, Devils, and Panthers. If the Bruins/Devils likely haven't checked out by then and the Leafs and Lightning might not be qualified yet and might wake up. Plus the Pens, Avs, Panthers, and Oilers might all be fighting for spots still too.
very much agreed there's a week of hell in there, where their opponents will probably be playing peak regular season hockey.

Sure hope so. Love their mix right now with the kids and Giroux.

What is the status of Norris?

I think hes out for the season regardless of how deep a run the Sens make. Should be ready for training camp next year though.

You'd think a team with the Bruins record would understand getting two points is all that matters. No one cares about your excuses. The sens havent had their first line center all season. I dont see any excuses in the game that Boston finally beat them. But if you wanna go down this road the sens were on a back to back on the road, with their 4th string goalie missing two top 4 d men..... Guess what no one cares. Did the game Boston just beat Calgary against not count because they got outshot so bad. Embarrassing post start to finish.

With so many teams involved, there's so little room for error.
This is the way it usually is, which is what makes the thread title cringe, and just begging to be trolled every time they lose a game.

You're probably 100% right.

I do wonder though.

Recovery is usually 4-6 months.

If he got surgery at the end of January, the end of May would be 4 months.

If by any chance the sens were going all the way, I wonder if he would be back for the finals.

Yeah exactly, when you have 20 games left and 9 of them are against BOS, CAR (x2), TOR (x2) TB (x2), NJ and COL, you need to beat the teams like Chicago if you think you're a good team.

They need to get as many points out of those games as they can - out of a possible 18, I would be happy with 8. They can definitely play with these teams but are inferior - need to hope they have nothing to play for in April.

Hawks, Canucks, Flames, Flyers and Blue Jackets should be wins, no excuses not to come out of those with 8 points minimum.

That would put them at 84 points, meaning they would need 10 points in the toss up games vs SEA, EDM, PIT, FLA(x2) and BUF.

So basically, they need to handle the teams they're better than (doable) beat the teams they're on par with (tough but doable) and then end up over .500 in 9 games vs the league's Top 7 teams (very, very, very difficult)

If they make it, they would have earned it, and I feel some Top 6 teams would be somewhat worried, but I see them missing by 2-4 points. Either way, thrilled as a sens fan with regards to the progress and future of this team.

Yeah he got surgery around the all-star game, he'll be good to go by training camp and he already tried to come back from the injury without surgery and didn't go well. With 7 more years on his deal, Ottawa won't rush him back even if they miraculously win a round.

Yeah I think the chances of him coming back are slim-to-none than the sens making it to the finals this year, and slim just left town.

If Pinto continues to progress, I would be interested in putting Norris on his off wing with Brady and Tim to A) aleviate faceoffs (bad shoulder) and also the one-timer set ups would be ridiculous. Crazy that Ottawa has played this well, other than November, without it's best goal scorer who hit 35 and paced for 43 last year.

Why are the Bruins nervous exactly ?

Your earnest, straight-forward approach makes me suspect you're not aware I'm playing under yo-momma rules, and your engagement herein binds you to the same rules.

Marchand's such a low-bridge hitter only troll dolls can live under him.

But in all "seriousness", the Bruins aren't nervous. Thus the suddenness of their nervousness at the end of the regular season.

Since 2018 players Senators acquired

Brady Tkachuk - draft
Josh Norris - draft
Etik Brännström - trade
Drake Batherson - draft

Thats over 90% of their current roster
I guessed they were doing one of the best rebuilds since the cap error started, and I got a feeling that's no longer a guess.

Jersey/Sens seem like they've mastered the 5 year rebuild.
