Too bad to make the playoffs. Too good to get a good pick. What a shame.
The west is a joke. Look at the standings. Congrats on the win. The sens also smoked good teams this year thats why they play 82 games. Believe it or not teams have good and bad games. The Sens getting pummeled by 2 western non playoff teams in Canucks and Sens but HFboard thinks western teams are a joke lol. Also Canucks had 5 AHL defenders in Juulsen, Wolanin, Brisbois, Burroughs and Myers and Sens were held to only 20 shots which was amazing
Bert, just call it a day. There's no point in defending your precarious position against these folks. They see an opening to roast the Sens, they're gonna take it. Rationality doesn't play a role in this case. The west is a joke. Look at the standings. Congrats on the win. The sens also smoked good teams this year thats why they play 82 games. The west still have the Avs and we know what happened last year. It could be Boston and Colorado in the finals and Colorado could win just like last yearThe west is a joke. Look at the standings. Please, go check the Chychrun trade thread. So much self-congraulating going on, you'd think the Senators just put the finishing touch on the next Dynasty. Now that they are losing "it was always a long shot"...What are you talking about? So much hyperbole. No one thought Ottawa is a contender. They are a young team coming out of a rebuild pushing for a playoff spot. Despite how terrible this road trip has been they have been playing 600% plus hockey for the last 45 games. They are still in the mix. It was always a long shot with the poor start but they are in it... They were 12-3-3 before this trip. Didnt see any of you guys posting when that happened. Teams especially young ones are streaky, they were bound to have some bad games.
Not much of a concern when we parlayed that "not-good pick" into Chychrun.Too bad to make the playoffs. Too good to get a good pick. What a shame.
Chychrun is a HUGE piece to add to the Sens core. It was always a huge long shot for the Sens to make the playoffs. Please, go check the Chychrun trade thread. I get that Leaf fans trigger you more but I see plenty of Red Wings fans and a mix of others like Penguins, Bruins, etc in here too.The sens are a rebuilding team that is progressing. What short comings should I be acknowledging? I thought they would miss the playoffs at the start of the year. They are literally exactly where I predicted they would be. If you expect someone to not respond with an unprovoked 'They're a trash franchise' I am not sure what you are expecting. Speaking of dishing it out without not being able to take it wouldnt that be the person you are quoting?
Every poster piling on is a leaf fan except him.
Thats the West's only real chance you are correct. The west still have the Avs and we know what happened last year. It could be Boston and Colorado in the finals and Colorado could win just like last year
Look at the last two pages. Its all leaf fans except the original poster that you brought up.I get that Leaf fans trigger you more but I see plenty of Red Wings fans and a mix of others like Penguins, Bruins, etc in here too.

Picking one or two posters opinion would be like saying your opinion represents the majority of people who post here from your fan base. Which would obviously be a very flawed and poor way to look at it.Please, go check the Chychrun trade thread. I honestly thought it was an amazing trade, but I've watched their last 2 games, and I am just not very impressed. Please, go check the Chychrun trade thread. interesting that you cherrypick the age 25 when all the core players are 27/28 and below. Not like a Penguins/Capitals situation where regression is imminent. With no picks in the up coming drafts. All their best players players on the wrong side of 25 except Lundell, barren prospect pool. Better hope they make it this year because it isnt getting any better.
The Sens have used a ton of energy to get themselves back in the playoff race, they look like a tired team. They still may have one last push but that schedule looks daunting and their chances slim.
I see you've edited your post now but lmao there's plenty of non-Leaf fans in here, not sure why you blame Leaf fans specifically. TkachuksPestControl is a Panthers fan and he's the one outright tagging your name and constantly getting into skirmishes with you guys.
Also funny to see the shoe on the other foot, Leaf fans often deal with the blowback from non-Leaf fan trolls who start threads about the Leafs just to stir up controversy, and those threads remain open for months with the exact same people who've been at it for years and the same chirps about first round exits over and 1967 over and over.
He's a pretty good player that will likely be demanding a huge contract in two years before he hits Unrestricted Free Agency. Time will tell how good of a "core" piece he is when he's making a big money contract. I don't hate the move for them but I think there was a A LOT of hyperbole as to the level of impact he'd have.Chychrun is a HUGE piece to add to the Sens core. These are two facts that are in no way in contradiction.
Too bad to make the playoffs. Too good to get a good pick. What a shame.
I think you are underestimating just how much help Ottawa needed in their top 4. Chychrun is a huge impact, anyone who knows the team realizes it. Much lesser players would have still had a huge impact... it's more a statement on what our depth is than what the player is.He's a pretty good player that will likely be demanding a huge contract in two years before he hits Unrestricted Free Agency. Good thing the sens have everyone except Sanderson locked in. They also get 2 + seasons to evaluate the player and other players in the organization before making a decision. Its kinda strange how in one sentence you talk about how he is going to ask for so much money but the other you question if he is a core piece. Wouldnt he have to play well to demand alot of money? Or are we just ignoring common sense. He's a pretty good player that will likely be demanding a huge contract in two years before he hits Unrestricted Free Agency. Will start to get interesting next year with DeBrincat in his last year, then Pinto and Sanderson both coming up on their 2nd contracts the year after. Like many good young teams, the cap space will evaporate quickly. The Atlantic got lucky they dealt Gustavsson because it's a very strong core with some good young talent still on ELCs on the way.I think you are underestimating just how much help Ottawa needed in their top 4. And yeah, we will need to figure things out long-term, but there is plenty of time for that. Guys will be moved, cap will go up, lots will change.
This. They also play their best when they play physical and with emotion which is completely unsustainable. Its also really hard to play that way on the road with no help from the crowd. This coaching staff's strength is they have a good culture and they have the players playing for one another. But this staffs weakness is from an attention to detail and structure stand point. Which really does not bode well for road games. They need a change in that regard but the foundation DJ Smith and co have established is a good one from a culture stand point. The Sens have used a ton of energy to get themselves back in the playoff race, they look like a tired team. He isnt a sens fan.I think all in all everyone agrees the Senators are a team on the rise, but it's fair to poke fun at the OP for the premature celebrations.
