You and me both!

NHL 94 remains my favorite hockey game of all time...but the SNES version, not SEGA :naughty:

Crystal Cave
Duke Nukem (the side scroll)
Jill of the Jungle
Commander Keen
Monster Bash
Captain Comic
Secret Agent
Artctic Adventure
Paganitzu (The protagonist in this game is Alabama Smith. Very lazy reference to Indiana Jones haha)

Do we have an idea of who will be on the Finnish WHC team yet? It's my plan for Kakko and Barkov to become best friends.

Barkov won't be on the team.

This is the team for the EHT this weekend:

Sadly, the Finnish team is really weak on NHL talent. Kakko won't have anywhere near the team Laine had when he was in the IIHF WC.

Yikes, the other big countries should murder that team. Might be good preparation for the 2019-20 New York Rangers, I guess.

Finland will always be able to find ways to compete, or at least more often than not. A team with smart players that buys into a concept, with a PP, can always compete in a game. OTOH side you will have offensively talented teams that maybe aims a bit to high and haven't yet found perfect chemistry etc, that will be big favorites in a best of 1 game.

The Slovaks/Letts get into more problems because they haven't really had the depth to build a team when selecting their roster, the difference gets so darn big between like the top 10th forward and the top 20th forward. But Finland has that depth, and can find the types they want that are in their prime and in good form etc for the tournament.

Just wait for the QFs, Finland is always a nightmare to play in them...

Duuuuuuuuuude, are you playing NHL 95? YUK! Gross! LOL that was the worst of the series! The Black Sheep of hockey games! Play NHLPA 93 or NHL 94 for SEGA! Those games are WAY better! =)

Promoting that game was the Fake News event of 1995. What a letdown, even moreso in SNES. They announced the trade function without telling us it came at the huge cost of the ridiculous sound and visual quality NHL ‘94 had.

Per Dreger, Hughes is lining up to play at the men’s worlds. Good on him, knowing that he already has No. 1 locked up after his U18 but still wants to compete.

Not saying it’s going to happen, but the narratives will go haywire if Kakko outperforms Hughes.

Personally, I’m happy with the current setup. Hughes to NJ and Kakko to the NYR. What a mind f*** if it goes the other way lol.

I saw this on reddit a little while ago. What an idiot and a waste of money. I doubt Kakko wears 24 here.

Why? He has worn 54 (rookie season) and 34 (first few games for men's national team) but every other team he has played on, he used no 24.

What's going to stop him from getting no 24, Nieves not giving it up? Hahahaha.

When Pavel Bure got here, he couldn't wear 10 because Sandy McCarthy was wearing it. So he wore Adam Graves' number instead. Then when McCarthy was claimed on waivers the next season, Garth Murray had to give up #10 to him. SANDY NEEDS HIS 10.

But yeah, I think 24 is the best guess for Kakko.

Fedotenko gave up 19 for Richards, Fast has played with 3 different numbers already (1 away from tying Derek Armstrong). I see no reason why Nieves would hang on to number 24 which probably doesn't really mean anything to him anyway.

You're right. 24 makes more sense for Kakko

Really my only point was I don't know when they decide to bump a player from his jersey number and when they don't.

If a player wants a specific number, they will try to accommodate that. Chytil wanted no 72 (his dad's birth year), Nedved wanted 93 (the year he obtained Canadian citizenship), Lias did not request a number and decided to stick with number 50 he was given in prospect camp. Howden wanted to switch from 48 to 21 and that was given to him. Kravtsov will most likely ask for no 74 for obvious reasons.

If Kakko doesn't play with no 24, it will most likely be because he did not request it
