I'm keeping myself from watching too many Kaapo Kakko highlight videos in case NJ picks him lol
@EpicDing your avatar is amazing but you spelled Kaapo wrong![]()
All depends on what happens with the stars and TB picks. If they both become 1sts, definitely try to package all 3 to move up. Of they cant find a partner, consider moving 2 of those for 1's next year. Especially if a fringe team is open for business.I totally admit I'm greedy and want Zegras too.
Love having 3 or possibly 4 first round picks. But I'd move those extra firsts in a heartbeat if my end result was Kakko and Zegras.
There's my potential franchise player, and there's my potential playmaking center.
2020 is still an option, and I cross that bridge when I get to it, but if Kakko and Zegras are our haul from 2019, and we find a gem or two in the later rounds, THAT is the type of draft I've been waiting for.
For the 2019 NHL draft, the New York Rangers select....
Vasily Podkolzin!
Seriously, I would collectively lose my ****.

He might not even come over for 2 years. Not even a chance of happening, especially since Kakko is the most NHL ready player in the draft. For the 2019 NHL draft, the New York Rangers select....

Brendl and Sanguinetti were the correct picks, the players themselves just didn't pan out.I know it’s not going to happen. I just get serious flashbacks of Pavel Brendl, McIlrath, Sanquitti, Jessiman, etc.

Kakko reminds me of Forsberg from what little I've seen,

Jessiman was an off the board picked but we'll never know if he could've worked out because he had his career ruined by injury.
McIlrath agreed.
I would just say that picking 2nd overall is different than 10th overall. It's a near consensus from everything we've been hearing that Kakko/Hughes are 1-2 and far ahead of the rest of the field.
After drafting Kakko, Rangers will have the best prospect pool in the league.

Yes and maybe another hit in 2020 draft - and the rebuild is about 3-4 years after Stepan was moved if we consider the rebuild plan started about that year.
Peter, right? Me too.Kakko reminds me of Forsberg from what little I've seen,
