I’m sure there’s a ton of demand for the guys on a team that just gave up back to back games of 10 goals.
And the little demand there is will only vanish the longer they are associated with this sideshow.

What does a coach even say after games? It has to weigh on the players. They may not have the skill to be in the NHL but they are all competitors. How will the Sharks react after their first win? It will almost be like a Bronx cheer type of thing. What will the coach say after that win?

As a Flyers fan, it would be par the course for them to lose on Tuesday. Part of me wants the tank but the other part doesn’t want the shame

I've never seen a team fail to be able to clear the puck out of their zone like San Jose. And it turns into scoring chances against *every* *single* *time*. It's like watching pee wee hockey. Like if you know your roster is dog shit how is the coaching staff not screaming at them to just chip pucks out to make the game somewhat respectable?

I was thinking about that, too. Just from a pro-sports' psychology perspective, it would be interesting to have a video of the post-game brief by the coach. He can't really just rant and rave at them for this many games in a row or they'll just tune him out, so you have to focus on a few particular things. But where to start?

Coach: "Okay gang, tough one tonight. The offense, face-offs, skating, passing, defense, puck-battles, blocking, power-play, penalty-kill, and goaltending were all horrible. But I also want you guys to know that I'm proud of how quickly and efficiently you opened and closed the door to the players' bench. That's something we can build on."

I honestly don’t think it’s that embarrassing. It’s not like they are underperforming, they are just in way over their head. Those defensive pairs are a sight to behold. It’s a bunch of literal who AHL-NHL tweeners and depth guys, some logging first pair minutes. Most teams’ third pair would be a top pair on the Sharks. If I’m one of those Dman I’m treating it like a punch in and out 9-5. Not my fault I’m thrown in the deep end. There is rebuilding and then there is this, which is all on the GM. Morale has to be pretty low I suspect in that locker room

It’s pretty embarrassing, there’s enough experience and grit (allegedly) at the forward position to somehow counter the lack of skill on D to not give up double digit goals in consecutive games.

My buddy told me Kyle Burroughs was PP1 at some point and that just about tells you all you need to know

I’d honestly tell the guys to have fun if I’m a coach. You’re losing games 10-1, 10-2…why not open it up? Cherry-pick and cheat up the ice, all that kind of stuff. Somehow I think a 20-8 loss would be better than a 10-1 loss. Everyone would have to buy the goalie drinks afterwards though

You mean what? I should be casual? My comment was meant to be rage bait to bring out the casuals...that you?
Never said that.

Like if I know my favorite team is probably going to allow a touch down, I’m probably going to vacuum my floor or play with Lego or something.

I’m probably not going to glue myself to the TV and treat it like a playoff game.

Lol if your team is rebuilding you never treat anything like a playoff game.

At this point the sharks are a meme, so I tune in to watch the massacre unfold and hope for a better future.

Maybe Grier and co. are too inexperienced to realize this but this level of suckitude isn't exactly good for prospect development either.

Basically poor Eklund

Funny, all their talk after October was how they couldn't score, only scoring 9 goals in the 9 GP that month. Now 2 games into November they've given up B2B 10 spots and now it looks like their defense is even worse. At a loss for words for how bad they are right now. Not much more I can say than they are 100% unworthy of playing on NHL ice.

Their defensemen can't even do that. They have zero ability to move the puck even a tiny little bit.

Vlasic might not even be able to make a hospice unit's team. He's so astonishingly, abominably cooked it's astonishing - his contract has an argument for the worst in NHL history.

Ferraro is just godawful, an astonishingly stupid player with no awareness of himself, the puck, the opposition, his teammates, anything. Somehow he's suckered everyone into thinking he's a leader.

Matt ******* Benning is our best puckmover. He's also a slow, incapable defender.

Kyle Burroughs is slow, inept offensively, and doesn't actually do anything well save punch faces on occasion. Vancouver can have him back if they want.
