What's the longest losing streak that an NHL coach can survive? David Quinn is at 10.
Yes, Mike Grier's plan in San Jose is to tank and build through the draft. You're not supposed to be so damn blatant about it, though. This is the NHL, and the game tonight was simply not a competitive game for this league. Makes a fan wonder "what are we even doing here?"
This was Quinn's 300th game coached.
They had a stretch where they went 2-21 and got outscored by 56. Sharks are working hard, they’re just completely shot and have no confidence.TBH they should be demoted to AHL. There should be some standards in this league.
Blackhawks were tanking last season, sure, but they still were somewhat competitive and pulled off quite a few upsets. This Sharks team is just an embarrassment on the league.
20 goals against in 2 games?![]()

literally lol'd man. how is that possible![]()
Sid hasn't really gotten going yet this year and he's normally a slow starter
They are trending in the right direction…
1-10
2-10
Just wait a few weeks and it will be 11-10
and if they score 3 goals the next game then 4 then 5 then 6 then 7 then 8 then 9 then they'll have more goals by the end of game 18 than Vegas does so far this year after 12 games
Right now Hoffman’s value is a 2042 17th round pick in the KHL.Might not be able to wait until the trade deadline. Living in San Jose may be nice, but gives like Hoffman, Rutta and Duclair may start demanding out before their value and reputation are completely sunk, especially if they are pending free agents. I get Grier going for the tank, but he way overplayed his hand. And for those targeting Quinn, he is doing exactly what Grier set him up for. I'd resign if I were Quinn.
I'm pretty sure Grier intends to trade them for picks at the deadline, that's his entire plan and MO for bringing in veterans like theseMight not be able to wait until the trade deadline. Both. He was left an old roster and a bare cupboard. This is a case of ripping off the bandaid slowly rather than do what Pittsburgh is doing and slowly peeling it off to avoid the pain. What is Griers role in all of this? Surgical dismantler, or simply a place holder for the next couple of seasons?
