He still really reminds me of Pierre Marc Bouchard, except with a strong wrist shot instead of Butch's mini-slapper. And since Granlund uses that shot more, he gets a bit more space and respect than Butch did.

Jarick, I think you are right on. I'd be perfectly happy if Granlund was just a power-play specialist initially. We all know the Wild PP could use a boost.

Loffer, good to see you continuing your jihad against Granlund.

Still? Are you still saying that Granlund is PMB vol. 2? Well, he SHOULD be better given his status and all the expectations. But maybe that's his downside. Always this nasty PMB card pops up..-.

Bouchard is/was a 60 point player when not getting concussed. I don't know why people think Butch is a bad player, he just has that reputation.

Granlund's ceiling is still higher than that though.

Yeah Bouchard is really underrated. There are games where he's better than Koivu.

Well, considering Bouchard topped out at 50 assists and could consistently hit 40 when healthy, that ain't too bad. I wouldn't call it a 'nasty PMB card'. And he said that Granlund has a better shot, which relates to more goals. I wouldn't mind that one bit if he turned into a 20-25 goalscorer while consistently hitting 40-50 assists. We know he has better creativity and vision than Bouchard, so his assists ceiling should be higher. But still, I'd take a consistent 60-70 point scorer any day of the week. We haven't had many.

Pretty decent stats, no doubt. No matter what they say...

Just wait for the double header this weekend against them. We'll see

It may get ugly after what happened to that Hopkins kid. Granlund should keep his head up...

You used the word in a context that is incorrect and doesn't represent the meaning of the word. In the future please avoid using it in this sense because it spreads wrong interpretations. (Notice how that guy makes out to be "bashing")

Thanks.

He used it rather fine.

I'm not trying to make a big issue of this, but no he didn't. It's common misconception. In his sentence he was referring to Loffer always opposing or against or fighting against Granlund. That's not jihad.

We can continue this via PM. I don't want to derail the purpose of this thread.

Granlund is a bueat.

I really want to see the Wilds record with PMB in the line up vs being hurt and out of it. PMB adds so much skill and playmaking, the wild really missed that. The guy is so elusive, and I think Granlund is the same in that aspect, great passer and just awesome overall.

We did that last year and it was definitely better. The Wild was first in the league when PMB got hurt and dropped like a rock after. Still the win percentage difference was bigger with Koivu. I think part of that was coincidence but PMB is definitely a much better player in the top six than someone like Clutterbuck, Brodziak, Nick Johnson, or Erik Christensen.

I do think if Butch didn't have the concussions problems he'd be a legit 20+45 player. He's had to re-start his career twice now and that's killing any momentum.

The hope is Granlund has a higher level of talent and/or better hockey IQ so that he can score more and be a bigger threat all around the offensive zone. I think if Granlund tops out at 60 points it would be fair to call that a disappointment. I think his ceiling is closer to 80 personally. I do think he could be a true star player, not just a good top six forward.

This is terrible :( He could be out for months. Still, wishing for the best. He was doing so well in the league.
