I agree that this is a moot discussion, because the proposal is not realistic. But the proposal was not Levi for Tkachuk. It was Levi+++ for Tkachuk. Ottawa would need a lot more than Levi in any trade for Tkachuk.
I watched the video, Frost, Laughton, Farabee were mentioned.
Not sure where these numbers come from, or what they mean, but I'm guessing his #s look a LOT better than Krebs'. He's smaller than Krebs but a year older.
I don't get why the trade would center around Frost for Krebs unless they want the grit and agitation Krebs brings. Apparently he is also a leader so if Philadelphia is doing a scorched earth rebuild it makes sense they want to bring a good character into the room with the other young kids but nothing has led me to believe that is where they are headed.
I don't think we can afford Konecny at his rumored ask at $10m. But I think you're onto something. Would they want Joki?

Which would be very nice. I don't love Laughton, and don't know Frost well, but Philly had a very respectable bottom 6 last year and these two were a big part of that.
No, they were just speculating. That maybe Briere might be interested in Krebs. But they also mentioned all our top forward prospects, the guy from Buffalo wondered what Danny would be looking for in a return for Frost.
Why do we need Laughton with that contract and analytics as a 4C? I would just consider trading for Frost, be it Krebs+ or something else. If it's not Krebs, just keep him as a 4C, he'll be half the price of Laughton. If it's Krebs+ for Frost, then just sign someone like Stenlund for 4C for example.
I really focused on Cates and Laughton this past spring since I was hearing rumors we were interested...now I'm wishing I focused more on Frost. He seems less chaotic than Krebs, which this team needs, but Krebs still has untapped upside that might be attractive to some teams.
I have this bad feeling he ends up in Boston. They really need a 1C.

Laughton was so bad last year it would blow your mind.
We can do better than Laughton and possibly cheaper. No one said anything about a low price if it's Frost + Laaughton. Frost makes sense, Laaughton doesn't.
You're missing the point that Laughton is probably more of a throw in at this point especially with nothing retained. Sure you can do better than Laughton but it's going to cost you a lot more.
