picked "C"... though not out of indecision, more out of viewing A/B as both unlikely and poor options for our current state.
No way I see Hughes "selling" every vet he can regardless of what's left behind. That would throw the rest of the season into turmoil that runs contrary to what they are building and undermine the competitive approach the team clearly has with the players.
I also don't any value in trading away valuable assets for short-term playoff push, nor do i see Hughes considering that a reasonable option... again here runs contrary to the approach they have laid out and followed quite meticulously.
What seems most likely... moving any assets that aren't part of next year's plan IF the asking price is met (more value than the perceived value of keeping them for remainder of season) and IF they have an internal replacement they view as adequate to keep the team competitive on a nightly basis.
Armia, Pearson, one of the goalies, are the pieces i think are sure to be gone if there is any interest.
Monahan/Kovacevic if the asking price is met
Dvorak/Anderson unlikely unless part of a bigger deal
picks/prospects if a key asset they have targeted becomes available
not a sell off
not a futures for right now help
something in the middle... which fits where we are at in the rebuild, somewhere in the middle
