We really only need to get rid of the piping on the current ones.

One of the main reason I haven't bought a jersey with any player relevant to the last 10 years is the horrible piping. If we get rid of the piping and add the mountain-ish things on the bottom I'd probably buy a jersey the day they came out.

I think the mountains on the bottom are what they are trying to get away from. The logo is already considered too 90's by too many critics.
I am one of the few who are fine with the current Avs logo. All the negativity on HF makes me like them less  but i'm still "okay" with it.

I agree with everyone else who says our jersey would be great without the piping.

Our logos fine. A borderline classic now, the majority of hf are 15 year olds, I wouldn't worry too much on their opinions.

They never actually used mountains though, just angled lines that could possibly represent mountains. There's nothing 90's about them. And who are these "critics", the ones who actually matter anyway? Are they the reason the the Lightning look like the Maple Wings?

Going by HF, fans are generally tired of the pre-90s retro movement and want to see more 90‘s throwbacks and innovative designs in general.

The critics are the websites who rank our uniforms in the bottom 5 of the league. Whether you like those websites or not they are the ones who talk about it. Reputable hockey people talk about real things like hockey.

I don't think teams care about those rankings.

Found a picture of an Avs logo I drew like 10 years ago. Was going to post it but the pic was too big... I'll see what I can do. It's pretty great.

Computer being a POS so I can't put it on here but I present to you to new Avs logo.:

EDIT: fixed

Still far and away the best concept posted so far. Just keep the Blueberries as the 3rd and make the White jerseys the Home set.

Very interested to see what they come up with next year for the Outdoor game. My money is still on them incorporating the state flag somewhere. Unless of course the league goes with a "theme" like they did last year and this. Last year wasn't bad...still dig the Isles. But the 2-tone monstrosities for this season are terrible.

One thing I'd like to change about our jersey set up in particular, is the black pants. I think going with blue pants could look very nice.

What site do people use to make their own jersey concepts? Icethetics?

I so want us to change to that. If we have a outside game. We need to change our jerseys to these or to our old ones. I miss them so much!

Avs changing 3rd Jerseys next year?

WHAT WE KNOW
Reebok has the Avalanche changing up their third jersey.

WHAT TO EXPECT
The blue alternate has been with Colorado since 2009. I'm personally not a fan of text-based jerseys — except for maybe the Rangers — but that's far from this team's biggest uniform problem.

That apron-string piping on the Avs' home and road sweaters simply must go. It just has to. But for now, that doesn't seem to be in the cards quite yet.

As for the change, it could go a couple of ways. First, the catalog may be suggesting that the existing third will be retired at the end of this season.

Either that or a new design is in the works. Third jerseys are meant to accentuate a team's third color — which the current one does well. Should we be worried about a black alternate coming to Colorado?

Lastly, the Avalanche are hosting a 2016 Stadium Series game next February, which usually comes with a special sweater. Are they dumping the third in anticipation of getting extra use out of this one?

This is what the Blog Post mentions specifically about the Avs.

It seems they're taking the Isles' approach of using the Stadium Series jersey more than once so I sure hope it's decent.

The outcry for jerseys and an outdoor game and an anniversary patch must have the ball rolling but let's see in 2016. The 20th season patch would've looked good on a new jersey at the draft, though.

I'd love a new jersey but the Blueberries are hardly the problem. People in the jersey thread have noticed the funny things on the stock of the Blueberries so this seems to match what the Icethetics people have keyed in on. I don't think it will be the stadium series jersey per se because that would be something where they could keep it the following year if popular. But considering the game isn't until Feb 27, are they going to have no alternate until then? Seems odd. Plus those Stadium Series ones are not team designed, it's a league thing and they try more modern elements, which may or may not go over well. My guess, maybe bringing back the original burgundy 3rd for the 20th anniversary.

I could definitely get behind the original thirds. They're an upgrade on the Blueberries. Even if the Blueberries look pretty good on the ice, they have weird elements like the armpit sweat stains and the "Avalanche" on the collar. Those are hardly issues but the original thirds are a classier look IMO.

Not sure what difference there is not having a 3rd jersey. I know I have never cared which jersey they were wearing. I could wait until March.

I hope they aren't ugly and chrome. Not sure the Wings would put up with that.
