AEW had 11 *women* of color in just the battle royal alone, including 2 out queer women and one who is transgender. In one match.

Who were the gay women?

I don't know who they are but that would, by my count, make 4 openly gay wrestlers in AEW (the other two being Anthony Bowens and Sonny Kiss).

Kiera Hogan and Diamente. They're actually together.

WWE is better now than it's been in a long time. Reigns is killing it as a heel and he has a HUGE matchup with Lesnar this Thursday at Noon ET Live on Peacock in the US and the WWE Network outside of the US. It's an absolute stacked card that every wrestling fan won't want to miss.

Diversity is one of the things WWE is lightyears ahead of AEW right now. Of the 9 matches scheduled for Crown Jewel, 8 have at least one POC participant. Compared to AEW All Out only 3 matches had a POC participant.

Oh is there a huge match? Roman Reigns against a guy you might see wrestle 3-4 times a year? 0 if you only watch on cable.

WWE is garbage at this point. Wasting a strong Roman character and an extremely deep women's division. Every time I tune in I'm reminded how awful it is and have to turn it within minutes.

It's a card they won't want to miss, that's why they'll get the fewest people ever to watch, on a Thursday morning.

I feel the same way about AEW. It's absolute garbage.

Ever hear of time zones buddy? Plus, the great thing about it is I can come home from work, flip on Peacock and watch it from the beginning.
Well if you won't want to miss it, you want to see it live. No one ever does miss it otherwise, it's always there.

Looking at the viewership numbers it doesn't seem like too many are watching lol
500,000 from 10-11 on cable is A+. Maybe A++. Especially when they’re drawing even in 18-49 to market competition who runs for 2 hours at 8.

Out of curiosity, what do you enjoy about the current WWE product? The champions that don't wrestle, the awful scripted promo's, the same matches every week that don't matter, the commentators repeating the same phrases over and over again. I sincerely can't comprehend what anyone enjoys about that current product.

Well, social media numbers are indeed very important. Shows how popular a brand is... AEW trended OVER Smackdown on Friday night.

Next step for AEW is to move away from the PPV model and get a deal with their partners for streaming rights. Warner have this cute little platform called HBOMax... perhaps... ;)

I haven't had HBO since Thrones, but HBO scoring exclusive streaming for AEW ppv events would surely get me to sign up again. Great call

AEW on HBOMax? @Scandale du Jour don't post that sort of thing until it happens. HBO was the best thing anywhere for well over a decade, but sadly it's not as good as it used to be. Still good at times, but I'd take Netflix over it if I had to choose. AEW PPVs and just generally AEW streaming though would be a gamechanger.

Tony should fire Brandi and hire me as his CBO... well, he should change the position to CMO and give me 3x Brandi's salary.

Bonus: He won't have to buy me a reality TV show.

I wish they would do HBO, they were in the mix at one point. They must still somehow make more on doing PPV’s, but I know it was brought up a couple weeks ago about putting their library somewhere.

It is the next logical step and considering the ties with Warner, HBO is the logical partner.

I'm calling it right now. When the final ratings come out tomorrow, Rampage will beat SmackDown for the 2nd straight week. AEW is white hot right now and WWE is losing fans left and right.

Zero chance of that with Smackdown back on Fox.

However, Dynamite is going to be hurt the rest of the year because the NHL is staying live in mountain and pacific time zones, so Dynamite will be preempted until after TNT coverage.

Hey they beat them last week when no one would have predicted it. Tony knows Vince is on the ropes so he will go for the knockout.

People did predict though, or at the very least didn’t think it was a given. And it wasn’t. But network TV is different.
