And a player like "The Great One" had zero points as a Rookie for Edmonton since signing in the WHA made Gretzky void rookie status.
You DO realize they dont go away, just bc we lost in regulation today, right?
I obviously went and looked at the standings since we lost a few in regulation, saw our position thanks to the loser points and expressed my frustration.

A lot of improvement will be noticable next year. Right now they're fighting it. I expect they'll be much better after a summer off to process everything that happened this year. Just my opinion.

Ironic, because that’s still like 23 point more than Lias will get this year.
Anyone else concerned by the complete lack of push back or fight or compete these guys are showing! These rookies have regressed!

That is going to be our Achilles Heel moving forward with this team. That should not be happening . Leafs are about to give Sheldon Keefe the biggest deal in AHL ever for a coach...they are doing it the right way . You HAVE to have these building blocks in place in order to provide that solid foundation . The Rangers have the money to improve that AHL club off the ice and there is no excuse IMO . Fix the staff and get some guys in there from Europe and College and a couple of older vets that can provide some guidance ......somebody PLEASE get that done !!! Find those teachers no matter where they hail from .

Throw Pionk into that mix too...Foligno made him his Bit*h at almost every opportunity last night . I think there was one play where he knocked him down 5 times.

I can tolerate the losses in this last part of the season. What’s unacceptable is how braindead they’ve played these past two games.

Pionk is awful. Should not be in the nhl.
DeAngelo is becoming a stud future 50 plus pt dman before our very eyes.
Buchnevich is doing the opposite of what he did last year at this time. He’s taking the opportunity and flourishing. Really impressed by his overall game the last month or so. He’s a different player.

I said it a couple games ago... The team has been stripped to the absolute studs, and there are only 3 legit top 6 forwards NHL forwards on the team at this point... Zibanjead, Buchnevich, Kreider... The rest is 3rd and 4th line fodder that is just playing as filler for now. The guys that are working hard are trying to stnad out but quite frankly there isn't much to show for the work they are putting in.
I only got to watch the highlights for this game, but hot damn, Pionk on the ice for almost every goal against, got ripped off the top pairing with Staal AGAIN, he's really making a case for him to be relegated to the 3rd pairing.
It's very possible that this team is actually throwing games--both management and players. The guys who put up crazy good numbers aren't motivated to do much at this point--this is a bottom 5 team, imagine if this was the case all year, the players would be in absolute depression.
Here's to hoping we can catch a break and get Hughes via the lottery
