This is the real problem here and I think it stems from the fact we have no offense outside of Zibanajad up front so the d are trying to join the rush all the time.

A lesser skilled team can play a very solid game against a more skilled team and lose. You lose but you play fundamentally good hockey, your prospects develop, and you fight hard but just don't have the talent to win. Awful hockey is a where you don't respect your fans and put a disastrous product on the ice that is not NHL caliber. Think classic, classless Penguins tanking.

This team has vets playing like trash and young kids regressing so it's disappointing beyond the basic tank. It can be both and therefore not ironic or comical.
