True, but what’s strange is the guy plays pretty physical a lot of the time.

The mind is willing, but the body can't keep up. He needs to be stronger on his feet. Some players are not big muscle freaks but are very strong. They're naturally gifted. Pionk is not but if he can get a little stronger, it would help him a long way.

I’ll tell you what, with what happened on Staten Island the other night, if I were Steve Schrippa, I wouldn’t be taking a train to that comedy night.

Once again a ton of complaining tonight when I was told all season that the Rangers have to lose. It's the only way. Embrace the suck.

Ok, time to invoke the Tankerator Scale. I know it's earlier than the 3rd, but that's to be expected when losing to a mediocre team...

This is the time the board degenerates to the tank / don’t take pointless debate. I will just post this midway through the third every game from now on:

Full-Tank: Lose for Hughes!

Semi-Tank: It’s nice to lose but prospects are not progressing.

Anti-Tank: You can’t tank and be competitive, are you happy now?

Never-Tank: How can you root for a loss???

parise dumbfounded a two hand chop to someones knee is a 'penalty'

must be a charmed life

It's possible but probably unlikely that Shattenkirk gets in better shape this offseason and turns it around.

You've complained about people complaining for the second night in a row. We're not complaining about losing. We're commenting on the bad play we're watching. Most of us that are still here for the GTDs have embraced the tank and are happy to lose. Imagine a thread of everyone doing their Ori impression.

People complaining about trash play on the ice which usually leads to losing which is what so many people wanted. Very ironic and comical.

It's really not ironic. It's possible to play hard/tough/well/whatever and still lose.
Shades of grey is more than a crappy novel...

I'm anti-tank. 82 games of this bullshit would have been brutal.

At this point, I'm honestly unsure what kind of a player Shattenkirk is. His 2 years so far, he's been injured and struggling through all of it.
That’s fair. In my opinion, I can safely say that he’s not the player he once was. Trotz was unfortunately right about him. The injury excuse I don’t buy, because he has sucked 95% of the time in NY. I mean, he can’t even quarterback a PP consistently, which is what he’s supposedly known for. Maybe if we were a playoff team, he would have more drive, but I don’t know.

People can point out bad plays by players in the game they're watching without contradicting their preference to tank. Hardly anyone is saying "This team sucks, why didn't we add at the deadline and why did we trade away last year's leading scorer?"
