He would have if he was a throw the lines in a blender coach, but he's not.
He's an earn your spot coach. Strome's earned his more than Lias so he plays where he does and Lias plays where he does.

The counter to this is 4 more random minutes on a random Friday on March doesn't help Lias at all and might hurt the culture. The culture change has been the biggest development of the season IMO. I'm with the coach on this.

I also think Lias will start to get a lot of burn starting tomorrow night.
I don't have an issue with Strome or Vladdy getting more minutes than Lias. I take more issue with Howden who I don't think has looked any more deserving of minutes than Lias has and yet he gets more minutes plus power play time. Howden is also a kid and is growing as a player but if this is going to be on merit then he hasn't earned his place in the lineup, he hasn't looked like a legit NHLer in months.

Can’t hurt to give Lias some of those PP2 minutes and some favorable usage. I think Lias has looked good defensively and had some good grinding shifts but he’s clearly focusing mainly on making the safe play and not making any mistakes. Give him a few games with Buch and tell him you want him to play more of a role offensively and actually give him a shot. Howden has gotten endless shots all season when his play really only merited it for the first few weeks of the season. He’s been objectively bad for months then gets hurt and comes back and he’s right back in at 3C with PP and even OT time.

Fast was close behind this morning with -3 as well. I can`t comment on it, because I woke up in the 3rd period, so I did not see the full game. :)

Anyway Quinn`s thoughts about the loss this morning.

He's an incredibly likable guy, watching Travis Green's pre-game presser the other day made me realize how big of pricks some coaches are. He answers everything so short and rudely, Quinn actually engages with people and gives legitimate answers

I really feel bad for David Quinn. I know he really wants to get this team doing respectable things and being that it's his first go at the NHL, I'm sure he wants to succeed. At the same time, he surely has an understanding that this team is not equipped to succeed and that's not what he's here to do this year.

It takes a lot of guts to not check out on this group and I hope that rubs off on them.
They are doing respectable things.

For most of the season, they have. Their amount of overtime losses, despite people getting annoyed at them at times, is respectable.

These last two games, they just got absolutely mule-kicked.
Yes. By Calgary and by the Refs the previous match.

This happens to every team, at least the Rangers have an excuse.

Nice to see Neal Pionk rocket one home. Happy for him.

On another note can you believe it's been 27 years and counting since a Ranger had a six point night?

Chris Kreider had another quiet game. You didn’t see him or hear his name until the second period when he had two shots on goal in one sequence.

11 games left.

Look this team battled every night for months and finally the wheels have come off a bit. They just don’t have the skill level at this point. This will be a rough 11 more games to watch.

I think kreider knows he’s a goner and for all we know he may want to be dealt to try and win. So he’s mailing it in leaving Mika with little to no help at all.

But when I see the growth in Mika Buchy DeAngelo and even Strome I’m impressed. I think Skjei has gotten better too. I like Lemieux a lot. I like Howden a lot who’s looked much better coming back from the injury. And of course Chytil just needs another good summer. Quinn is doing a good job with a lot of these guys.

Assuming they lose tomorrow (first time all year they play b2b with a rested opponent, which is so ****ing absurd) if they drop the Tuesday game against Detroit things are gonna get really, really ugly.

Toronto, Pittsburgh, St Louis and Boston are their next 4 after that game.
Somehow, I thought of you (because of that b2b thing) and just KNEW you would remind us all.......really is amazing how the schedule maker was "anti Ranger tank" making it easier along the way. Minny better take rightful advantage.

Andersson had a real nice shift on the penalty kill early in the game. As a highlight of the night that isn't much but I'll take it.

I’m trying to look over this game, and were there any good things? I mean I get it, 2nd best team in the league, but we stuck it out with Tampa till the end. This just was not a good game.
I could be wrong, but the Flames are all about feeding their ego/stats. This is new to them and deserving fans. They've gone through "hell" (get it?) Lightning have way too many ex-Rangers with buddies (albeit just a few now) on the other side.

I don't think its wise to beat a dead horse when its down. Someday, the Rangers would return the favor........a Western team doesnt worry about that stuff......there is little connection.

I will fall short in saying that Tampa has class, because I don't think they do......might be more that they were tired?

Again, I could be wrong.

^ I wouldn't say Kreider is mailing it in.

Kreider unhappy with Rangers' losing ways
He is a seasoned pro......and knows what to say. Saying it is one thing.....doing it, and everything you can as a "supposed leader" is yet another. I don't think he is mailing it in, nor KNOWS he is a goner.....but just hasn't been good, and that ties in to Zuccha and Hayes. Sorry, but that is what I think.

What was an amazing thrill for all of us. Thanks for representing this forum as proudly as you do.
Ditto those words. I had absolutely NO IDEA that was "Amazing" himself. I thought that waa so cool, even not knowing this fact. Way cool. 15 seconds of fame and then some. Awesome! So envious right now, lol.

This explains -3 from Lias last night, you mush! jk

Happy for you, bud, getting recognition for being a great NYR fan!
Officially a bust. 72 close. Kravstov who knows but seems to have no interest in coming over. Time to start trading picks for players again.

See Lias Andersson had a stellar -3 in only 10:31 of ice time. That hard to do.

See your level of analysis is quite high, as usual.

Just remember, Jesper Fast is not an NHL player. You told us that for 2 years, including one where he played a large role in getting us to Game 7 of the ECF.
