Well...my boy was pretty good tonight.

But those defensemen...not one keeper on that blueline, they all suck.

And Georgiev...7 goals? The last one was a real stinker, he just watched the puck move around him and in.
We get it. You’re getting adopted by the rich family and we’re stuck in the orphanage like losers eating porridge.
You win.

Georgiev's English is surprisingly good for a Russian player. I know he's from Bulgaria but still.
He seems to be really mature, right? I hope he makes it.
(Full disclosure, I work with Bulgarians who are every-one-of-them terrific people, so I root especially for Georgiev).

I mean a bunch of the slow, imobile defenders the Rangers had were originally “Tort’s Kinda Guys”.

How are the Rangers going to draft EK when the drafted late and meh...
Oddly, Torts Kinda Guys now are pretty mobile and dynamic. I know theyre considered a grind-em-out team but in fact they have a lot of skill too. And I don’t think Torts is smothering them at all.

@bernmeister you watching this?
I am thanks for the shout out.

Boo to Kreider hahaha
We who laugh last, laugh best

Boo is opening up space for others with his power skating
Now where have you heard that before?

Bern was right...

believe, ye of little faith.
Thanks for the ackowledgment

Nieves hasn't really done much most of the season, albeit on the 4th line, but you put him with good players and he shows a little something.

You put other 4th liners with good players and the good players take up drinking.
I have been saying this, and it was evidenced when he first came up and had a good game or 2 with Buchnevich before stupid mofo AV screwed him over with vet bias. However, as I have said, and as is correctly noted above, Nieves is not yet able to push to try and dominate. There is no reason to think he ever can dominate, although I'd like to give the kid a chance to show us full extent of what he can do. But as I said with the right complementary player(s), the results are better, due to synergy. Kreider is the case in point.

Has anyone pointed out the chemistry between Kreider and Boo on Kreider’s goal? I think @bernmeister deserves some love there. Maybe, just maybe, there’s something brewing!
Thank you for the kind shout out.
It wasn't the smoothest or prettiest handoff ever, but in what is duplicate from the prior game, Boo demonstrated he can 'carry the mail' so to speak, and we see the results.

I said, doesn't matter Nieves is only defensively responsible, big, fast and strong. While he can't singlehandedly do all the defense for the entire line, he can make his wings feel they can push the offense, and he will chip in where there is opportunity, which allows the Ws to be more creative.

And imagine, I lucked out here 'cause they happened to be on the ice at the same time, and there was INSTANT chemistry.
IMAGINE further that as I requested, Nieves gets proper practice time, not just a few shifts, to get familiar w/Kreider and the correct RW, who should be Nylander if we can score him, or until the best one emerges, Chytil.

While chemistry is a funny thing and Kravtsov might wind up at W, his current play suggests with his talent level HE will be the 1C. Between now and then, however, regardless of who is/is not traded, Nieves should be the regular 1C, def of 1C being established by definition of Kreider IS the 1LW.

The problem with Quinn thinking that is it gets me worried the front office will swing further towards toffness and grit...
Yea because One of the Thachuk brothers would absolutely ruin this team...

We need grit, useful grit. Think a young Wayne Simmons. We need to throw the body more

I know that almost the entire board went against me on this one, and it is too early to do a Stewie Griffin 'victory is mine!' impression. However, my point IS proven.
A very isolated snapshot, but I said, clearly, give Nieves + Kreider some time to work together and get that familiar chemistry.

I do not have ill will for 95%+ of the board who simply felt compelled to disagree with me as an honest matter of difference of opinion.

Even where we disagreed, nearly all of you agreed with my insistence that there is no reason, ZERO, to not at least try and prove the experiment one way or the other.

However, there is a handful here -- you know who you are -- you are the gutless wonders who disagree with me if I say water is wet.
At the appropriate time I will call you out with a measured statement that you deserve.

I especially want the mental giants who said, to effect, that there was no way, I repeat, not even the slightest possibility, that Nieves, a 2nd round selection for us, could possibly be more than a 4th rounder if that, that I am calling you out.
I give as good as I get if I choose to go there.
get out the forks and prepare for some humble pie, with a slice of contrition, and a dash of bending, buckling and breaking; YOU have earned it.

Shouldn’t we really begin to judge him when he gets a better team? I’m not saying he’s the best coach in the world. I’m not even saying he’s that good of a coach. Maybe he is. Maybe he isn’t. But he deserves slightly better circumstances.
He's an upgrade to Vigneault at least. That's not saying much, but it's saying something. Quinn has managed to get about the same results as Vigneault, with worse players.

I mean, it was a nice assist but this just seems a little bit over the top....

With Stromes recent goal scoring and Boo doing better it highlights how Hayes has benefited with primary offensive ice time. Trading him while his value is high is imperative.
