I'm not really freaking out about Chytil, but if he was going to be a game-breaker, he probably already would be.

Players have different trajectories. Chytil has shown plently of flashes of elite potential.

It’s pretty clear he doesn’t have game-breaking talent. Doesn’t mean he won’t become a useful player, but right now I just see Benoit Pouliot. A flashy play once or twice a game and invisible at best the rest of the game.. He needs to realize he isn’t an elite talent and start trying to put work in. Can’t dangle everyone in the NHL kid

Does anyone think that the young players will get better for this year in the NHL? I dunno.
One of my main issues with tanking (I have many) is that if you form a crap team then these poor young players come into it and feel rubbish, like they're not cut out for this. Howden has been poor for a long time now, Chytil isn't producing, he has skill, but not much results, Andersson looks like a nothing. I don't mean that I think they can't get better, of course they will, but these guys are beginning to think that they belong in a losing team and that they don't contribute much to that team. Could really damage them. Hope not.

That's the toughest part about all this. As bad as the team is now imagine what it's going to be like when they trade Hayes etc.

Offensively Miller is ahead of where most people had him, but his physical and defensive play isn't what people expected

Yeah this is a pretty shit take tbh. The kid is 19 ffs.

The hardest part about this part of the season is not the losing, that was to be expected.

It’s the inability of any of the talent to consistently show something lately.

Losing 4-2 or even 5-3 has a little bit of redemption when some of your guys can pop in some points. But the last few games has been nasty.

Unfortunately, all of this was the concern. And now it’s manifesting itself in reality.

However, on the bright side, I think it’s also served as a valuable reminder about where this team really is and the long road it has ahead of it. Sadly, October and November served as a soft of Tylenol for fans. It masked the fever and underlying illness that was still very much present.

Now we can continue to move forward.

I'm not saying anything with a correlation between DeAngelo and this run because he isn't that important to the team but you would have to assume he gets back in next game. Also since this isn't working can we play the kids more now? Since Hayes is out do this please so the kids get their ice and we continue to lose.

Chytil has already tripled the production of Grachev lmao. Also were all those guys showing these flashes in the NHL at the age of 19?
