I'm not really freaking out about Chytil, but if he was going to be a game-breaker, he probably already would be.
He has one elite skill: stealing the puck from guys on the wall. I think that alone will make him eventually an above average winger and he'll probably score 30 a few times with his reach. He doesn't seem to have a lot of aptitude as a center.

I said he profiled to be a better Jimmy Vesey from what I could see and a few guys lost their minds chortling at me but uh, I think its on and that's a pretty good player.

He'll be Kreider.

I adore Kreider, but we didn't need another one. We need players that make Kreider a compliment like Guentzel and Wilson are.

I'm going to just say, this is our new reality. And im not going to get optimistic until we have a Calder finalist on the roster.

This group went from not getting boat raced all year (despite deserving to on several occasions) to it happening in 3 straight.

Think the b2b against the Isles will be the unofficial official nail in the coffin.

That why we need to lose as much as possible to try to get one.
I agree with that.

I still just don't have much faith in this organization to get it done.

More than that, the grit > skill philosophy is still alive and well. That much is clear.

People will tell themselves McLeod and McQuaid are hired saboteurs to help the tank. Whatever helps you sleep at night, but teams don't really do that.

They're here because the Rangers value players like them. Always have, still do.

Does anyone think that the young players will get better for this year in the NHL? I dunno.
One of my main issues with tanking (I have many) is that if you form a crap team then these poor young players come into it and feel rubbish, like they're not cut out for this. Howden has been poor for a long time now, Chytil isn't producing, he has skill, but not much results, Andersson looks like a nothing. I don't mean that I think they can't get better, of course they will, but these guys are beginning to think that they belong in a losing team and that they don't contribute much to that team. Could really damage them. Hope not.
