I honestly don't think anybody would dislike Najee if he wasn't drafted way too high because the Steelers are a dinosaur organization.

I like Warren, but him being a feature back with a line that can't block and an offensive scheme so predictable that defenses know what is happening pre-snap would be a disaster. We don't need a small back getting plastered at the line by every mlb and dt in the league.

The stats back it up. Both Najee and Warren have a insanely low yardage before first contact average.

The thing about tandem backfields is there has to be some skill overlap so it isn't obvious what you're doing depending on personnel. Warren and Najee may be too different even if Najee wants to run like Warren (when he's built like Derrick Henry). Najee needs to understand who he is.

There may not be a more maligned man in football right now than Matt Canada and I can't say he doesn't deserve it

The biggest thing I look for who watching college RB is anger as a runner. If a guy is tough to bring down and he hits holes with wreckless abandon, he can overcome not being the biggest or fastest. Najee doesn't run angry. He doesn't run behind his pads. He just looks like an unengaged player. He had two runs against Cleveland where Alabama Najee came out, and then he was gone again.

Najee was 7th league wide in broken tackles last year. He was 4 behind broken tackle god Nick Chubb with 30 less carries.

Show me a back that runs over everybody when they get hit at the line constantly.

The Steelers have perhaps the most anemic offense in the league and people are complaining an insane amount about a back who has only gotten 17 carries through 2 games while averaging 4.6 ypc.

It's the disconnect between stats and what's being seen on the field. Harris underachieves a lot on runs even if he ends up with ok stats at the end of the day.

What I'm seeing on the field is both backs getting blown up at the line constantly because teams know whether the Steelers are passing or running pre-snap.

People can see that the passing attack is harmed by Canada but it is incomprehensible to them that the running game is suffering from Canada.

It is truly bizarre. Maybe if Najee went to Pitt all his problems would be blamed on DJ and Canada.

Getting blown up at the line is also an issue. But we've see Najee not hit the line hard for 3 years now. It's been a constant, even when he happens to get some decent blocking. He also has some moments of brilliance, which keeps people wondering when he'll breakout.

The last Steelers 1,000 yard rusher before Najee did it 2 years in a row was Bell in 2017.

It isn't like the Steelers had a world class running game and Najee ruined it. The organization has been behind the times offensively for decades and it was only Ben, Brown, and Bell being HOF talents that created the illusion the organization knows what it is doing.

The one thing Tomlin has never done in 17 years is take over the coordinator duties.

He has he just really sucks at it.

Looks like Chubb only tore his MCL. 6-8 months recovery, apparently.

It still sucks for him but when it happened it looked like, ACL, MCL, and PCL.
Wow. That's good news. I hate the Browns but I don't want a player like Chubb to have his career end like that. He's amazing.

Crazy enough - having a rebuilt knee once probably saved his ass this time.

Honest question - does Najee pass the eye test this year for you? What you're saying is correct, but with all that being said do you think Najee has anywhere near the pop behind his pads this year that he has had in years previous? He has been as bad as Kenny, in my opinion.

Idk, it has been 17 carries. If the defenses don't know when the Steelers are running or passing it sure looks like they do.

It isn't even that I am a huge Najee fan or something. I just think the fixation on him is bizarre.

On to the Steelers, and I think they win tonight. But with a few exceptions, I hope everyone had a good college football Saturday. I know I did.

Of those 17 carries, has he looked like a starting RB? I haven't seen any difference between him and Warren, and I'd actually give the edge to Warren at this point. He hasn't been good...17 carries or not, and his replacement has looked better. I think the whole team is getting piled on right now. I don't see any reason to race in and defend Najee. He hasn't been good, and part of the reason he has 17 carries is we have been behind, but the run has also been wildly ineffective.

Not to be negative but…

Steelers haven’t beaten the Raiders on the road since ‘95, so anyone expecting a win best temper expectations, especially given the state of the offense.

For some context how long ago their last win was…

- Braveheart was just released
- Gangsta’s Paradise was the top song
- OJ Simpson trial was captivating America
- PlayStation released their first console
- EBay was founded
- KP wasn’t even born yet

Just funny seeing/hearing a lot of Steeler fans, not on here so much, think this is some easy win.

Raider fans are thinking the same thing and they have history and not Canada on their side.
