Maybe I am just getting to a point with Tomlin that everything he does and says annoys me, but when someone asks him about an opponent and he says, "We have to congratulate them..." or "We have to give them credit..."

No you don't. You're giving credit to a team who stopped you and your job is to make sure that they don't stop you. If they do, they did their jobs and you didn't do yours.

I’m not bailing on a young QB until I see a couple yrs of his work.

No matter how much we want to rush it, it takes 2-3 yrs for a QB to develop.

Some in this fanbase just got spoiled by Cowher developing Roth properly behind a great team.

All that said, I have no clue how KP will develop in such a dysfunctional offense.

If you can’t run or pass block and now KP is developing bad habits, something has to stop that spiral and reset things for him to develop.

I have zero faith in Tomlin or especially Canada to figure it out - I saw 23 games of pure ineptness without KP, so who is going to fix it, really?

I should have clarified. I was a big KP fan last year with what he came into.
I'm not suggesting they make a QB change. Mitch runs around scared of getting hit. MR is barely an NFL QB

It's KP or die this season (and next). Plus they need to see what he's made of.

Feels like this past week in particular perfectly illustrates why both sides want what they want.

Your top 2 picks this season barely playing, if at all, is a huge issue in its own right.

I came into this year just wanting to enjoy a group of likeable players and it’s quickly turned on me….I knew Canada would be a huge problem but it’s so much worse.

I'm right here with you. The anticipation has been squashed. After 2 games I'm legitimately sitting here thinking, "how bad can this get?" and "how long is leadership going to let this go on?"

The regression from Kenny has been the most shocking thing. He was going to have trouble, but he can't even complete a pass right now.

The offense has no chance when the OC is a moron who can’t scheme properly to save his life, the pass protection is getting blown up constantly, and your young QB doesn’t seem to have a great grasp on reading defenses. At least the run game looked slightly better.

At this point, the offensive scheme would improve if it were simply reduced to: is George 1v1? If yes, throw it to George. If no, look at Freirmouth.

Canada sucks.

Still, Ben with no mobility and a dead arm was more efficient than KP in the same system. Trubisky was more efficient than KP in the same system.

Ben had 5 multi td pass games in his last season. Pickett has started 14 games and has 0.

That play last night where KP checked down to Najee even though Najee was surrounded by 3 Browns says it all about KP's potential.
Ben tossed the offense out and called his own plays….that’s the only time we had success lol

I'm pretty happy with Seumalo. Every time I key on him he's at least got someone bottled up. But this O line has been trash for a while now.

My feeling on the above play is that Mason Cole actually should be helping Seumalo with a double team. Daniels stepping back and funneling his guy up field works if Cole goes left. I don't know how this was drawn up but this feels like coaching more than anything.

We moved up to take a tackle and instead they're trotting out backup quality crap. That's step 1.

A good oline can make a crap QB and crap RB look semi competent.

On the D side we watched Wallace get torched and our second effectively first round pick at CB looks brilliant in the little he gets in there. PLAY HIM! That's step 2.

I don't think you can fix OC and QB and OL coach at this point but at least start your talented players.

Just checking in to see if the guy who lost his mind when I said that Harris was a mediocre at best RB is still on the Najee Train. Anyone? Anyone?

Porter got away with one on the last defensive snap but good lord I don't see how anyone can watch Wallace and Petersen and not think Porter is one of the best 2 CB's on this roster.

Absolutely an abomination that JPJ got 7 snaps in a 20 point blowout loss the previous week.

He's probably frustrated with Canada and trying to carry it all on his shoulders. I see the talent, but what I don't see is the support he needs to be successful. Plus having no run game at all leaves us so predictable.

KP has been a let down, but then again, name a qb that would have success with this OC and OL???

Mahomes would have a good quarter or two and then buckle under the constant pressure and reliance on hero ball.

I get what you meant. I don’t get the vibe you are turning on him like so many other fans.

It’s hard not to feel despondent though, I get it.

I’m just really patient with young QBs though.

I also have zero hope of them winning a SB with Tomlin around.

So that kind of mindset makes it easier not to get upset at KP like so many others.

Ya he’s playing badly, but I know in the back of my mind him shitting the bed isn’t really costing them anything of significance.

Tomlin Purgatory is like that.

Zero accountability from this head coach…ZERO!

The reporters ask softball, closed ended questions!

Tomlin is a great orator who essentially says nothing!

He is running a country club where the standard has become preserving the non-losing streak!

I don’t think just the offense is worrisome.

Khan’s biggest misses this off-season were on D. Not keeping Sutton and replacing him with PP is looking bad. New ILBs do not look that good. DL wasn’t strengthened enough and it’s showing at point of attack in run game (giving up 200 yards/game right now). Secondary is gonna be a serious issue against non Deshaun Watson quarterbacked teams. They can’t just rely on pash rush and splash plays bailing them out.
Cant fix everything in 1 year. Khan improved the team. Tomlin and Canada have not improved the team

This also needs to change. I’m not sure what more Wallace has to do to feel a little pressure. He was responsible for the big CMC run last week, the big run this week, dropped a gimme pick, and gave up a few big completions.

I’m not sure how many snaps Adams had, but Benton should be playing over him. I’d start playing Fehoko as well with his run stuffing ability.

And if the line is going to suck, might as well suck with Broderick Jones getting snaps.

Wallace is responsible for Minkah getting hurt last night

Tomlin Purgatory is like that.

I'm down on KP bc the rudimentary things that he did "fine enough" with last year aren't repeating:

- Throwing the ball in the dirt on a wide open slant- that's one of the easiest throws in the QB book
- Throwing the ball to a doube-covered RB in the flat.
- Throwing flat footed
- Missing open receivers

I understand mistakes like getting baited on a zone blitz or perhaps not shifting the blocking scheme. Those are all "experience-based" mistakes that you have to live with a young QB.

But I'm getting Zach Wilson vibes here

The issue is that is what the majority of media/fans/city fans want more than anything else. You have fans gloating about the record even when missing the playoffs.

They have to become a really bad team for multiple years to get the changes needed

Was he actually quoted saying "We won't apologize for winning?" In what context was the statement or question? because chalk that up as one of his dumber ones. I put that one the same level as WE DO WHAT WE DO.

I won't apologize for going 9-8 and missing the playoffs again.
