Sam Howell now has more 2 td games than Kenny Pickett, lol.

Edit: I understand that having an actual coach / OC like Shanny & EB and weapons really helps guys like Purdy and Howell. Not trying to suggest that Howell is better than Pickett.

The unquestioned leader of the locker room threatened to retire him Haley wasn’t fired

Nay, Tomlin's vaunted D had the performance of its history vs Blake Bottles.

Doesn't matter now. Browns are gonna curb stomp this team and coaching staff Monday. Tomlin's is going to finally have his first losing season..

And Rooney Tunes?...im not even sure if he knows its football season.

I watched Phil at PR and the kid was such an incredible athlete. You could tell the arm was a bit suspect, but athletically my god. They’d run an option with him and it just wasn’t fair.

I don’t even recognize this version of him. Dude has packed on atleast 50 pounds. Now he can’t run or pass. Maybe it was having zero oline at BC. Never should have went to ND to start with but I digress.

Play the transfer now?

I watched him too (from a neighboring school), and he is a phenomenal athlete. He kind of reminds me of Steve Paskorz if you are in your mid-30's. Paskorz in the WPIAL could have played any position and been the best in the league. Jurkovec was the exact same way...just turns out he was amazing arm.

I believe Jurkovec has a ND tie in his family, but you are absolutely right. Anthony Morelli 2.0.

Just catching up. So thankful I’m a PSU fan and not a WVU or especially Pitt fan, those schools just suck at football. 8-9 wins is bad for us but basically an apex for them these days.

Secondly - I see Mark Madden is being attacked for his take on the Mike Babcock situation. Ryan Whitney who was always an ally of Mark’s went after him for some reason. HUGE mistake. Whits is about to get dragged:

Pretty wild how Whit turned on Madden - he and Biz were really chummy with Madden. If Madden has dinged their podcast, I could understand. Not sure why he would though.

Sam Howell now has more 2 td games than Kenny Pickett, lol.

I am absolutely shocked Sam Howell has any sort of success in the NFL. It is a truly wild league and any predictor of future success is shaky at best.

The browns are strictly m2m now that is perfect for KP. The Steelers have won 20 straight home regular games against Cleveland

Hes advertising his podcast. I mean what better way to get more attention than picking fights with another loud mouth.

Interesting. I defended Howell when he was coming out despite the fact that almost everybody I talked to hated his game. It seemed like he went from being overrated by having people talking about him as a high 1st round pick to being hated on a bit too much by the time his draft rolled around.

I wasn't sure then or now that he's ever going to be a franchise QB but I thought he was a bit undervalued. I can see why people didn't like Howell. His game isn't pretty. He's not particularly big or athletic but he does have a little Big Ben to him in terms of still being able to run around and make some things happen despite not being that fast. Overall I think there's just enough there to work with athletically and he has a good arm. We'll see if he keeps it up.

Hopefully Pickett gets on track tomorrow.

Out of 26 teams that have played thus far this week, just 9 failed to score at least 25 points, with three teams scoring 24 and one 23. Losers today include teams that scored 33, 31, 28, and 28 points.

The Steelers are so far behind the modern game.
And only 9 times has Canada's offense scored more than 20 in 35 games. The stats are so damning.

It's insane how predictable this offense is.

My stepson's 8th grade team runs about 5 base plays with some wrinkles on top of it. I can correctly predict the side they'll run or pass to with about 90% accuracy. My wife thinks I'm some sort of football genius

With the Steelers I'm able to predict the side they run or the primary pass read at about 75%. They have about 8 base plays with wrinkles. If I (a casual fan) can decipher this offense and its patterns, how quickly do you think a defensive coordinator who works 60+ hours a week can figure it out?

And isn't that the premise of the entire Spygate thing: having the ability to know what the other team is doing gives you a TREMENDOUS advantage?

This was my greatest fear: KP would either regress or stagnate under this 'coaching'.
KP's success was predicated on the offense in general going against tendency. That hasn't happened and I doubt it ever will. 2 more showings like this should get Canada fired

We may lose this game, but I think TJ wears Dawand Jones's ass out tonight. 3 sacks at minimum.

Offense will do just enough to keep Canada around all season I suspect.

It wouldn’t hurt, but I don’t think firing Canada in season helps either — the time to fire him was 7 months ago. Maybe you promote Sullivan and he’s a better play caller, but you’re still going to be running what’s essentially a Canada offense.

If you go externally, you’re probably hiring someone no one wanted like Leftwich. And even then, he’s not going to install a brand new offense in the middle of the season. And a new offense is what they need.

I've thought that maybe if they shit can Canada they try to poach Whipple. Between Sully and Whipple, Kenny will have more than enough continuity there.

You mean Whipple, yeah? If so, that’s not the worst idea in the world. I didn’t love him as a play caller but he ran a more pro style passing attack in college than Canada does now.

If you mean Cignetti, please god no.
