Theres nothing anything Canada can do to sace his job. They will bring in a passing coordinator with no play calling experience from philosophy 49ers Rams Dolphins Lions and give him the job.
Tomlin wants to add Qb movement in the offense i am really shocked we don’t see much rpo

Kenny being a local guy will get all of year 3 to prove if they should pickup his 5th year option. I do think it gets interesting if Fields is cut or traded because the bears moved on because Tomlin loves him.
This draft they need 1 more wr 1 c and then the offense is set

You can’t apply logic to how the Steelers operate under Tomlin and Rooney - so ya it would seem Canada is a lame duck OC, but until it happens I won’t believe it.

KP will get another year, not because he’s the local hero, but because as I have been trying to explain over and over, most QBs take three years to develop.

If you gave up on guys after two years, the NFLs leading passer right now wouldn’t be playing for Miami and the guy leading the undefeated Eagles would be elsewhere also.

However, I now have severe doubts Tomlin has a clue how to develop a young QB, which was my initial instinct after Roth retired.

Your presumed point about those guys being successful coordinators but failed head coaches would hold a lot more weight if we were discussing Leftwich for HC.

Bucs fans said Leftwich was atrocious without Brady, so that does worry me to be honest.

I don't think Leftwich will be some savior, but a fresh voice or to look at things differently can't be any worse than what we're seeing

The point being people have been suckered into believing Brady’s OC actually knows what’s he’s doing when it was always just Brady weaving gold out of turds

It's very possible what you say is true. But to my post above...Canada isn't it. The next guy might not be it either, but we'll never know until next season when Canada's contract isn't renewed (remember that the Steelers NEVER fire Asst coaches)

Typically Qbs that are 22 gets 3 years t develop however KP is already 25 the same age as Tua

KP is already 25 his the same age a Tua Herbert etc he isn’t some raw 22 like those guys where

It’s good to not make a move just to do it. We went from Fichtner to Canada. I don’t see Leftwich as a significant deviation from ineptitude

I think this is where we disagree. I don't think I've ever seen an offense this inept. I mean crappy teams are regularly getting 400 yards of offense. We haven't eclipsed that in how many straight games?

This is not hyperbole where I say "can it get any worse?". We're at the bottom of suckitude

Canada to Leftwich would be a borderline lateral move. Canada is minor league but Leftwich is atrocious too. There’s a reason he’s begging for jobs.

Praying that they pick up a Shanahan/McVay/ Ben Johnson disciple.

The age doesn't matter. If KP becomes a good Qb that plays until he's 36 or 37, that will be around ten years of good football they will get from him.

Rodgers was KP's age now when he first started and he went 6-10, then at 26 figured it out and has had a long ass career.

If KP comes into his own next season, he will only be 26 and right in his prime.

If not you move on, and his age won't matter anyway.

I would fire Canada but not hire Leftwich is what I’m getting at. Canada should’ve been gone when Ben retired honestly.

We asked ourselves if it could get any worse under Fichtner and Canada has proven the answer to be “yes it can”. Do not underestimate how easy it is to be bad at pro football

Which is why I am so pessimistic about the next hire.

This isn't a couple of bad hires. This is not a fixable glitch. This is part of the coding under Tomlin.

He wants a defense first team that controls the ball and offense be damned. He believes that in todays NFL the way to win is low scoring games.

And the next hire will be a clone of the previous hires.

Right, which is basically saying that the rot in this org goes down to Tomlin.

Canada is just a symptom and I have little hope removing him will change much.

Firing him now would just make us all feel better for a few weeks until reality sets in that Tomlin is the issue.

Wow its like the killer b era must have not been under Tomlin

Only a Tomlin team would keep reverting back to a zone blocking scheme when they have success running the ball using man-man.

Maybe stop using Canada’s split zone and pounding your heads into a wall, literally.

Maybe let your lineman pull… I know it’s crazy!

That’s their history, but if the offense shows marginal improvement after the bye like last season, I wouldn’t be surprised if he’s retained.

Rooney and Tomlin love mediocre.

The Steelers with Najee and Warren and this line remind me of the Colts in Quinton Nelson's rookie year. They were struggling like hell to get anything going and were on a losing skid. Nelson tells the OC, "Let's run the f***ing ball." Just hat on a hat, attacking football. Turned their season around.

It's probably not a bad idea with this offense to line them up and just let them go. Broderick Jones looked awesome, IMO against the Ravens. I think he'll be a top 10 LT, but if for some reason we have a stud LT fall to us, I think Jones may be the definition of a new age RT. How he is able to get out in front is truly special. It's almost a waste having him on the left side, as insane as that sounds.

Need #1 right now for me is a center. Mason Cole is Kevin Dotson level bad right now.

What they are doing clearly isn’t working, so try man on man, but more importantly they run so often out the the gun with the line back on their heels.

They wanted to play roadgrater football and Tomlin can’t even get that right.

Ya I’ve been saying Cole is killing them for weeks now.

They have to go hunting for a good C in round two next year to help solidify this line.

Yeah, C is probably my #1 need right now, honestly. If we can't figure that out, this team is never going anywhere.

I admit I have 2021 Draft Derangement Syndrome, but man they could have already addressed this position.

Trade down to get more picks and they could have bypassed Harris. Select Creed Humphrey AND Friermuth was the move.

I don't disagree whatsoever. I would have done the same. I get why they drafted Najee though. It was a tough spot to be in organizationally. They needed a player that could carry the load for a new QB. The issue is, Najee and this line haven't done anything to take pressure off of Kenny.

In 2019, they shoudn't have traded up for Bush...they should have back up. They could have landed Deebo Samuels and Miles Sanders. 2020 instead of Claypool they could have drafted Hurts who went 4 picks later. 2021 they should have backed up and drafted Humphrey and Freirmuth. Your offense would be Hurts, Samuels, Sanders, Humphrey, and Freiermuth if everything worked out perfectly.

This whole roster construction took a weird turn when they drafted Bush. We have kind of been chasing since because we gave up a ton of draft capital for him to fail.
