What still irks me is Najee Harris sliding in that last play. We could have see this end 37-23 and a massive boost to the offense's ego. I get they wanted to just run out the clock to a point where there was zero return but man, I wish he just punched that in.

Doesn't irk me at all. I actually thought it was a tremendously heady play and what a leader would do. Sending the special teams and defense out there again...meh. Seal it up. Get out of the building.

and he was double teamed on his big play lol
Herbig is a step or two faster than Highsmith and Highsmith is easy to push past the pocket. Herbig is like a smaller TJ (and honestly a lot like Harrison) where he can bend and turn the corner under the tackles pads. He's just way more explosive, IMO. We will probably never seen Watt-Herbig though unless Highsmith gets hurt.

I'd absolutely draft a OLB this draft to start getting ready for TJ being in his 30's and depth behind Highsmith.

This is nitpicking. He got criticized for scoring in this same exact spot 2 years ago.

It is a chicken or egg question.

Is the running game awakening because of the improved offensive line? Or because they opened up the game and passed more often downfield making it harder for the opposing teams to cheat and stack the box?

Did the Steelers play a vanilla offense because KP was not up to more, or because Tomlin preferred a defense first scheme?

I suspect a bit of all of the above. Because we have ample evidence that they wanted a vanilla offense by design whoever was at QB. From coaches saying as much to players who left opening up about it.

All that I know is that the last two weeks proves how dumb that they have been for a few years.

They just played what is the worst running defence in the league over the past 10 (now 11) games. The Bengals are brutal too.

I don't want to say it's all that as they were getting a real steam of head going with Jones introduction prior to this point, but things have exploded in a way that doesn't make sense looking at the personnel but does looking at the opposition.

I'm curious to see what happens vs the Ravens. This team needs a real test.

Are you ever happy about anything?

Bad rushing defenses or not, this running game needed these last 2 performances in the worst way possible. Even if it's fake...it still feels good.

Tomlin just said Pickett was cleared to play but lack of practice reps led to him being inactive. Not the number two. Inactive. Something went down.

Did Pickett refuse to be the backup at Seattle?

…I would say there is no question he refused.

Edit: Per Madden “Just got told that Pickett 100 percent refused to be the backup. That the Steelers writers know that but won't write it.”

Wow. Just, wow. It’s one thing to suck, but another to have the boo boo face like that. They just need to get rid of this loser.

As much as I love the conspiracy, this seems like Madden is just talking out of his ass, per usual.

For a team that’s had a lot of selfish acts and me-first attitudes this year, Najee doing that was fantastic. Selfless play that secured the win. You slide there 10 times out of 10

Good. Going back to Pickett and not sticking with Rudolph would be a fireable offense for Tomlin.

Don't you kind of wish he did that? Maybe it would actually get him canned.

Never mind I forgot the Rooney's are okay with winning seasons only.

Wish they'd tried Rudolph sooner. Had they elected not to bring back Trubisky, they'd have gone to mason right away. And maybe they'd have a shot at 11 wins. The playoff picture looks pretty bleak at this point, and I do think they're operating at a much higher level with Rudolph to the point where it's a damn shame to me that they won't be there. I think this team could win a game in the playoffs, I don't think the AFC - beyond the Ravens who will have a bye - is as much of a challenge as we've seen in past years.

Let’s not get crazy. If we make the playoffs we’re not going to upset anyone. The Steelers would be like 10.5 pt underdogs against any team.

Miami would have 500 yards of total offense against us… we can’t match their speed.

A positive takeaway from this year would be the org realizing that Pickett is NOT the guy.

Depends on our seed we can as the 6th seed beat KC the 7th seed means Miami who will not have chub and have 3 playoff wins in 25 years.

It's Madden. He hates the Steelers. He doesn't know anything and just pisses people off for clicks. How have people not learned to ignore him by now?
kaboly is also saying this. Kp said he didn’t learn anything watching Mason last weekso i belive he would not backup

Exactly. Plus apparently he was going to leave Pitt if their OC left. He’s a baby.

Also, say what you will about Madden but he doesn’t usually just throw **** like this out there if it isn’t legit. He was right about Lev Bell, AB, and also TJ Watt skipping his exit interview a few years ago (which I believe came from Scrap who was their DB coach at the time).

Madden is a divisive shock jock POS but there aren't many scenarios where it's logical that on Sunday Pickett was too injured to even be an emergency QB with zero downside to the roster and then on Monday be deemed healthy and not on the injury report.

I mean, there is literally no reason not to have dressed Pickett as the 3rd QB yesterday. It wouldn't have counted against the actives. Honestly this explanation is the only thing that does make sense, even if H2P nation is going to go to the mat to defend Kenny.

If it is true that Kenny could have backed up Mitch and didn't, that is a very serious issue. I cannot imagine him saying/doing that.

Aside from watching 15 hours of cable news per day, the favorite hobby of your average boomer is just absolutely loving on companies who would fire them in half a second if they thought it would allow the company to save 50 cents on the annual earnings sheet (which the Trib did to anyone who wasn't smart enough to leave on their own).
