There are several other corners who are as good if not better than JPJ right now…and the Steelers could likely get them dropping down a handful of spots…
Not sure where I saw it, steelersdepot?, but Ike said they love Tyrique Stevenson.
Either way, if they only move back 4-5 spots Branch or Porter could still be there.

This is my mentality and hopefully Khan's. If a team wants to give up a lopsided amount then be our guest.

If not we take our guy and that team can hope they figure out how to get who they wanted.

The thing with the 2024 draft is that it's going to be loaded with top safeties. We can find another Branch type player. Additionally it has my favorite prospect in probably 5 years in Joe Alt, which is why I would want to deal with the Raiders and try to squeeze their 1st out of them. They implode, we may have a crack at Alt who I think is going to be the next great LT in this league.

Two quarterbacks could be targets here. Hooker and Levis. At least one would be taken before the Rams' pick at 36. So yes, for the right price someone who fills a need and with a ton of talent would still be there.

I would only be willing to trade down a maximum of 5 spots from 32 and I’d demand a 3rd to do it. Which no team would want to do unless they’re super sold that Levis is good and he won’t make it to like 37.

Although I will admit I wasn’t aware how few day 3 the Steelers have, so maybe having 4 day 2 picks and only 2 7ths beyond it isn’t the best tactic.

I like Stevenson better because he makes plays on the ball, also like Cam Smith better

You're kind. I'm demanding two 2nds. If teams are frantic to compete for the 32nd. They will not come away feeling like they won it apart from getting their guy.

or they stay put, take Branch and then take JPJ or Tyrique with their second pick

It should be interesting, I trust that whatever we do tonight, we'll make the right decision. I don't think we'll have a WTF moment. But I would love to get Brian Branch for reasons I stated previously.

Yeah that is a good point to mention as well.

I saw a tweet that alleges the Titans are willing to do 41 and 72 for 32. That drops more than I’d like to drop but that’s probably the ballpark of where teams are starting at

If I'm willing to move at all, I'm willing to do that.

I wouldn't expect a ton more because that's a handsome payment and it's not like we're the only team that can sell. If I was the Titans and I'm hearing "2 2nds and your firstborn" I'm just ringing Arizona. We don't have as much leverage as some seem to think.

Also on a soft power note I'd rather not have the brand new GM struck out of guys' contact lists for demanding the earth. The team can still do well without going mad.

Detroit has a ton of draft capital left too.... How would 48 and 55 for 32 sound? Thats like a 30% premium per the ole Jimmy Johnson chart
I'd strongly consider 48 and 55 but I may squeeze another pick out bc we'd be dropping 16 picks back and losing out on our top player choices.

I'd prefer:
34/55
For
32/80

Moves our 3rd rounder into the 2nd. We likely still have JPJ or Branch available.

Lions can guarantee if they wanted a QB.

I'm pretty sure all GMs understand the game. I seriously doubt they'd "remember" this for future blackballing.

It's an easy conversation from Khan. We love the players available at 32. If you want us to trade out it'll be uncomfortable.

Nothing every other team hasn't done when they have this spot.

What I’d like to do is swap 32 for the Bears 53 2nd round pick and their first round pick in 2024…that would be hilarious…then we could have recouped a second and a first round pick for Claypool

That’s some Cask of Amontillado shit.

That would be great, but I can't imagine the lions giving us that much value. So they move up what two spots and they drop down 25? That just doesn't seem very prudent to me.

People, we’re getting at best a 3rd, and that would be overpayment, to move down 15 spots or fewer…we need drop down below 47 or so to get something much better

I only want to move a couple spots back at most, unless we get a ton in return. I don’t see anyone offering what would make sense to me at this point.

So again.

If it is four or five spots and we get assurance that it is for a Quarterback, I am fine with a not large return. Enough to make it worth losing our choice of who remains, but nothing outlandish. A third would be an overpay but that is what I would be looking for.

If not, fine. Stay where you are and take who they like best.
