Had a look at that Ravens trade up for Jackson (as that's what we're hoping a team will do). Eagles only got a 2nd next year to drop 20 places. Might rein in my greed a little as to what's possible.
nope! the guy we want is there. so unless it's a cant lose trade, or if it's a toss up or we think one of the guys will still be there. no reason to make a trade. imo

The guy you want maybe.

There's about 8-10 guys there I want. I haven't talked myself into Branch being a can't miss. Until I have, I'm very open to trades.

And who knows where the Steelers are, other than loudly advertising they're open for business.

I prefer Branch but I think it's JPJ
To be fair the only reason people assume it's JPJ is all the freaking yinzers begging for it.

I don't think he's a terrible pick but give me the top safety over a CB with major restrictions on what scheme he can play. I mean come on now.

there are no "can't miss." and it's getting your choice of those 8-10 guy's. and why we are even looking at a trade.

Curious about who the 4 teams are.

Bid, my pretties, bid!

Can't miss prospect as in can't miss the chance to take them, not they can't miss the NFL.

Although, honestly, barring injury I think Brian Branch is pretty much guaranteed to stick in the league. Be super shocked if he didn't.

And I don't get what you mean by the bolded

I am totally on board with never removing QB. Garoppolo is an example of how a team with a franchise QB can still gain value by drafting a QB as an option then moving on. Purdy is an example of how a back up can keep a team alive. Possibly a bit rare but the chase after a Super Bowl is a rare thing anyway; you're looking for long shots to pay out all the way.

Just not today.

Would alter that and say "Just not this year"
I still predict they'll take a 7th round QB just as an arm camp.

I have a feeling they may transition Leal as a wave EDGE guy vs a DE

Leal is a 300 pound man. I very highly doubt he plays anything other than DE. If anything they should pack some weight on him and play him at nose. Not the other way around.

Eh I don't care what the yinzers say or don't say.
My feeling is more based around the fact that this iteration of the Steelers loves it's bloodlines. I mean we set some sort of record for brothers playing last year. The Tomlin and Porter Sr connection is hard to ignore.

Believe when they traded up for Jones they resigned themselves that JPJ would be gone by #32. I don't think they'll pass on him twice.

I agree with you. Believe he's more Cam Heyward than Highsmith. But they may see his pass rushing skills underneath that flab

Rams trading to 32 to take Levis makes a ton of sense to me, but what are they giving up?

Your mom's chest hair

...

I dunno. Obviously this...

32 and 80 for 36 and 69. That's even steven.

Doesn't work, because its fair. There's no damn point giving it up to be fair. I'm not letting some other bellend have Branch for the dubious pleasure of picking 11 picks earlier in the 3rd.

I'd say 32 for 36 + 77 but that's a bit heavy. Not sure I'd expect them to say yes.

Maybe 32 and 7th for 36, next year's 3rd, and a 5th and 6th. That gives us some future capital and a bit of roster filling this year. But... I dunno. Depends a lot on what other teams' boards look like. I mean, Branch is 30th on the ESPN board, so maybe he lasts, but... *shrugs*

I agree. I'm not moving from 32 without a 1 in 24 or two 2nds in 23. It needs to be vast overpayment. Branch is worth more than a 2nd round pick next year. He's worth more than moving up 11 spots in the 3rd round.

I don't think a team is going to like Levis that much, however...a team may like Branch that much.

Honestly I don’t know that going up 11 picks in round 2 is worth risking missing out on both Branch and Porter Jr.

I don't think so.

This is my mentality and hopefully Khan's. If a team wants to give up a lopsided amount then be our guest.

If not we take our guy and that team can hope they figure out how to get who they wanted.

Rams trade would only drop the Steelers four slots to 36.

Rams have a ton of later round picks. But I am not sure that the Steelers want quantity.

There are four players that would make me happy left though. Branch, Porter, Meyers or Torrence.

For me the cost to drop four slots would be high though. Next year's second, this year's second, and since they have three fifths three sixths and two sevenths I would want the top fifth, sixth and seventh of their picks.

Apparently Darnell Washington failed a lot of medicals. Dunno why, but that's either a nice discount or not our guy.
