1st: JPJ
2nd: O. Torrence
2nd: Dawand Jones
3rd: Siaki Ika

Not a fan of this one. JPJ in the first is fine. But Torrence at 32 doesn't make much sense with all the IOL the Steelers signed in the offseason. If I walk the mock, I'd rather have Q. Johnson, McDonald, Benton, Musgrave, Downs, Washington at 32.

At 49, not a fan of D. Jones either, and it sounds like the Steelers weren't happy with him at his pro day. A better pick would be Harrison if they want an OT. Or go with Jack Campbell, Schmitz or even Cam Smith. Nothing wrong with having two stud corners on rookie deals.

I’d probably be fine with Wright at 17… not sure he gets past the Bucs at 19.

Pats may consider him also I bet.

Really want a LT upgrade, but landing a premiere RT would be a nice consolation prize.

No idea what they do with Chuks, as he’s not exactly a swing man being so ass at LT.

Probably run Chuks for a year as swing man - maybe he wouldn't be great at it, but I feel like that's true of everyone available at this point - then cut him next year if he doesn't surprise and do great things.

I could live with it but it'd be about my least favourite way of doing things short of a disaster.

I'd rather have Wright than Porter, Harrison than Jones, pretty much anyone over Torrence, and I'd rather get edge depth over Ika.

Oof yeah I wouldn’t be thrilled with that draft. And it’s mostly due to Torrence at 32 — guard is probably the one position on the line that doesn’t need any additions.

I’m also not a big fan of Ika. I just don’t love the idea of spending a day 2 pick on a guy who will most likely never be anything more than a 2 down player.

I'm fine with a 2-down player if they can be elite for the two downs. But I am not a fan of Ika, he just seems like a big guy.

Yeah, if they went Wright in the first, then they could go with Forbes or Cam Smith at 32. Then go Anudike-Uzomah or Jack Campbell at 49. I like that way better than what Brugler has in that Mock.

I’m not a fan of JPJ at #17…I think he’s a second day corner…too many holes in his game…I fear he’s like Artie Burns lol…Gonzalez or Witherspoon are the only two corners worth taking in round one imo…if they want a corner, at least trade down and pick one of the guys late in the first…

Cam Smith is the KP of corners… doesn’t have eye popping measurables, buts he’s just an all around smart corner who will be a good pro I suspect.

Any other year he would go top 20, this is just a historically deep corner class.

Ya, I’m starting to reset my expectations that only a guy like JPJ will be there of the big six guys we all think Steelers want.

I’d rather have a dominant RT to protect KP than JPJ, but again his stiffness scares the hell out of me.

Guess there are legs to the Chi rumor, but it may be for Carter according to King:

Best rumor of the week: Steelers trading up from 17 to nine if Carter’s there. There could not be a more perfect coach for Carter than Mike Tomlin.

Some really interesting draft stuff in there many on here would enjoy.

The thing I don't get about that rumour is Chicago have been all over Carter themselves, and are already short of difference makers and long on picks.

There is a rumor the Steelers have talked to the Bears about moving up:

I don’t know how credible this EJ Snyder is, but it’s something that’s out there for anyone who wants some Steeler draft news.
Weird… I remember you and I were told that Dan Moore Jr was going to start no matter what, even if they brought in a tackle… so this trade surely can’t be to secure an offensive linemen, considering he wouldn’t start after all.

The unfortunate thing if that happens is people will hate the pick but Flowers is actually a really good receiver, and I don't think most realize how good he can be with a legit QB. I really do think in the right situation in the NFL, he's a monster.
I want the Chargers to take him at 21. His skill set would be awesome with Herbert

Ya seems weird but they could be feigning interest in Carter to drum up offers for teams that covet him.

NBC sports Chicago said the rumors is 17 and 32 for 9 and 64.

So basically Steelers would get 9 and the first pick in the third round.

I could definitely live with that. Will still be a lot of talent on the board at 64.

I didn't love the idea of doing that for a LT, but for Carter? Assuming they get him to grow up and knuckle down, that's a deal where years later you're laughing it up at your brilliance.

Oh well. We'll see. If King is right, it's probably not happening anyway.

Lot of factors here.

Was the offer made?

Is it just on the table if Carter is there?

Is it the best offer Chi has or will get?

At worst, it’s something interesting beyond another f***ing mock draft.

Agreed with the latter, it is a fun conversation. For the rest I think it is just King communicating a rumour he has seen on social media. It's just a tease to create clicks. I could have made it up and posted it on Twitter and it would meet the criteria. Thus, take it with a grain of salt.

The more I think about it, the more I would be ok with us taking Wright at 17. I think getting a good strong side run game would really help the offense more than anything else. Cole-Daniels-Wright would be able to get some movement for Najee.

I don’t doubt the convos have taken place. Kahn flat out said he wants to be aggressive and move up if he can.

Convos and the deal actually happening are different things though.

I highly suspect Kahn wants to put a big exclamation on his first draft and he hasn’t been shy about saying he wants to be known as an aggressive GM.

His own words coupled with this rumor definitely seem to suggest the Steelers want to move up.

Like I’ve been saying all off season though, finding a partner isn’t always as easy as Kahn simply wanting to jump up.

New Athletic consensus big board. *Big* pinches of salt, but

Skoronski, Johnson, Gonzalez and Porter are all top 10

Witherspoon and Jones would be there at 17

Ringo/Banks/Forbes, Washington, Simpson/Sanders, and a bunch of OLBs are at 32 (consensus has Harrison going a little before)

49 gives you Muskgrave/LaPorta for TE, Avila/Mauch/Bergeron for OL (Dawand Jones goes a tad before)

The most interesting names at 80 imo are Young as Edge, Ricks/Rush for CB, Pickens at DT, Wypler at C, and Freeland at 90

Not really very many moments where they think DL holds value and I can see a double dip at CB making sense. Also feels like if you don't get one by 32, holding your nerve until 80 might pay off.

Love the talent available at 32 and think trading down a few spots will still net a good player.

Sweet, we'd only be a few injuries away from the Bears' passing attack of 2020 :P

I'd pick Witherspoon over Jones. I think Witherspoon is an elite #1 CB that we haven't had since Woodson.

I loved Colbert, but it’s way more fun as a fan to have an aggressive GM like Khan.

R.I.P. to my dreams of an Addison-Pickett reunion though.

Steelers acquired WR Allen Robinson from the Rams.
Compensation hasn't yet been given, but because the smoke of the Robinson situation has included the Rams leaking that they'd pick up salary to move Robinson, it likely isn't much. Robinson fits in as the third wideout next to George Pickens and Diontae Johnson, with Johnson likely the favorite to run most of the slot routes in the offense. Robinson will remain only a deep-league dart throw in as a lower rung receiver on an offense that struggled for most of last season. The Steelers are likely hoping they're able to squeeze some red zone production out of him after they floundered there last season.

From Scheffter
WR Allen Robinson is due $15 million guaranteed this season, of which the Rams already have paid $5 million. It is expected that the Steelers will pay a portion of the remaining $10 million to Robinson, per sources

It should be dirt cheap. Good to add experienced depth but wasn’t there smoke around him not being the best teammate?

Edit: a lot out there on him quitting on the Bears in terms of his on field effort but doesn’t seem like he’s a distraction in any way
