Bush and Jack were replaced with 2 borderline starting caliber guys. Improvement? Not really.
DLine still has cam and Ogunjobi. The NT was replaced by a rookie. I don't see any improvement. If anything it got worse because Cam is one year older.
Fehoko will be the starter at NT he was the starter for the chargers. Holcomb was very good a year ago Washington wanted him back
Leal benton louder are the backs ups they are young adams is still around.

The ILB just have to be competent agt the run and pass, and get more than one whole turnover the entire season to be better than last years group.

Ogunjobi was fighting a shitload of injuries all season, if he stays healthy that will be a big improvement. IF.

If Watt stays healthy I’m not worried about the D.

Canada and the O will be why this team reaches double digit wins or goes backwards. Not really rocket surgery to assume.

I just really don’t get how you can say they still have a bottom 5 run defense when they literally had a top ten run defense last year and added some additional pieces this offseason. Ogunjobi should be healthier this year and Fehoko/Benton should be an improvement over Alualu/Adams. The D line may be up there for the strongest unit on the team.

The ILB is definitely a concern but like everyone is saying, Bush and Jack were just…there. It’s not going to be hard to replicate what they did.

The secondary is still probably the biggest question mark for me. They were pretty much trash any time they faced a good QB last year. I don’t know how much of an upgrade if any Peterson will be over Sutton and there’s still no great slot corner option right now on the roster. And then you’ve got to expect some growing pains from a rookie corner so I’m not sure how big of an impact JPJ will have this year.

Secondary as Wallace-Fitzpatrick-Kazee/Neal-Peterson feels alright to me. Peterson is the only new starter there (treating Neal as a rotational piece) and he's very smart so it should be a quick transition. It's not super high quality but it's not like there's any guys there have no business in the NFL. Porter will get snaps on a rotational basis, but he'll have to prove himself to get more than that.

The moment you add a slot corner is when the questions start. And yeah, giant questions. Particularly when ILB isn't great either.

If the Steelers defence stays fit next season, then I expect them to have an outstanding pass rush, a strong run defence, adequate coverage out wide and deep... but any shots a QB can take at centre field are probably going to feel dangerous.

Part of me wonders if they're drawing up ways to use that weakness to bait QBs into throwing interception bait for Minkah and Kazee.

Really sounds like Moore understands what time it is. I think the forethought he had to start training so he can comfortably play both sides is huge for him because if he comes in with the new physique and strength, I don't think it will take much for him to beat Chuks.

I think Moore is the perfect guy to have around Jones because he really is a pro about how he goes about his job. Jones is walking into a veteran OL room which should giving him a really solid footing as he gets going. Moore's relationship with Jones hopefully turns out to be a good one. though Moore may not be the best LT in the league, over the course of his college and pro career dude has played A TON of LT.

At least Moore didn't roll over like Dotson and say, "It is what it is. They brought in a new starter." Maybe that's part of Dotson's problem?

From a distance there appears to be a real mental difference between the two. The rumours about Dotson being in the doghouse seem to be endless. I don't think there's ever been chat about Moore.

I'd also add that Moore is facing a situation where getting snaps is still within his reach. He can hold off Jones for at least a while, he can go after Okorafor's spot, make sure he's the first guy onto the pitch for both if there's injuries... while Dotson is a lot more done. He's not holding off Seumalo, absolutely no way. Daniels is pretty much untouchable the other side. And he's going to have to go some just to stop Herbig being first guy up, because they didn't bring him in for nothing. I get why Dotson's just being philosophical and open about it. Steelers have told him what they think. In terms of his career, he's honestly probably got more to lose from a bad injury than he has to gain from busting his ass.

But, I'm thinking the Steelers are doing this because of what they've seen from each guy and how they expect them to respond. We'll see how this process goes but I feel like they've given up on Dotson. Honestly I'm kind of surprised he's still on the team.

I agree. I don't expect for him to make it out of camp, which is really sad because his rookie year I thought we found a beast LG. Hopefully they can squeeze a 6th out of a team for him.

I have no grasp on trade values because there seems to be no rhyme or reason to them at times, but maybe there’s a trade to be had with Arizona. Isaiah Simmons is rumored to be on the outs and could fit the slot corner/cover linebacker role. Maybe a Dotson swap with the Steelers adding a day three pick could work.

Ryan Clark - for YEARS - had already been talking about the "weed culture" of the Steelers. He was dismissed, as trolling for clicks to launch his media career.

And then Bell and Blount get arrested for DUI on their way to a preseason flight. And I said then - that DOES NOT happen unless they know Tomlin doesn't give a shit. Getting pulled over was a fluke. But you KNOW that was not the first time they had done that.

Bell was gonna get a guaranteed contract but then he got high.
He was gonna win a Super Bowl too but then he got high.
Now he's doing crappy podcasts and I know why.
'Cause he got high, cause he got high, cause he got high.

I'm hoping Hakeem Butler finds a way to make the team.

Dude is a freak of a human. Was good in college.
Couldn't stay healthy his first go around in the NFL.

But if he finally shook the Injury Bug. Having a 6'5? 220lb WR that runs a 4.4 would be nice.

Knew a lot of guys that smoked before lacrosse games in HS even though they took it seriously. Lot of guys I knew in college smoked before the gym.

Never would myself but they swore it helped performance. Idk if that was what Bell was going for though lmao

There's been people who've told me to abstain from wanking the night before playing in order to build up the anger and frustration, and F1 drivers who liked to shag just before the race to calm down. People have the wildest ideas of what helps sporting performance and who knows, maybe with placebo effect they're right.

Since I don't think anyone's going "I knew it! He always played like he was stoned", I don't think it really matters what Bell did. He was good enough, that's all that matters.

His hands are atrocious.

I could count on 1 hand how many times I smoked from being a kid to my mid-30's. My girlfriend got her medical card a couple of years ago because she was experiencing long drawn out headaches that was really impacting her life. I started to dabble a bit with the stuff she would have, and then I started researching because I knew nothing about marijuana at all, and it kind of opened a pandora's box.

If you get the right strain you are more than lucid enough to go about your day, but it brings anxiety way down and focus up. It's just a matter of finding what you need. As someone who has never slept more than 3 hours in a row my entire life, I have a strain that knocks me out for 6 and I've felt so much better because of it. My view on marijuana has taken a 180 degree flip in the last 2-3 years. It has become such a non-issue to me.

This dates back to a Greek physician, Aretaeus.

He believed retaining semen increased athletic performance.

Brady had some rule where he wouldn’t have sex for 72 hrs before games. Lombardi use to try and enforce his rule that players abstain from sex before games as well.

Now you know something you probably never wanted to.

You’re welcome.

Boxers notoriously abstained before fights. Not sure there's really anything that backs it up though.
