Ehhh…call me old school, but a true football player doesn’t need to “expressed a desire to play football again.” He just has that desire, and everyone knows he has it.
You’re quote wasnt the quote that was in the tweet. Even so, i feel like you’re splitting hairs a bit.

So Blount blamed Haley not Tomlin. Ingram knew he needed to start to get a bigger deal and thought he was better than then Highsmith. His current FA projections say he is a part time player a rotation piece and even KC is not sure they will bring him back.

We've had 3 FA players want to bolt mid season. There's been 1 constant in this equation.
Unless you don't think Tomlin has ANY say during the recruiting process?

Even The Miami Dolphins thought this guy was an A+ Clown in 07. Oh man :laugh::laugh:

Only Rooney Tunes needed that guy to fit his new cartoon.

Agreeing with that article and sighting it as a reason for your Tomlin hate.......wow. I mean, do I need to point it out?......

I understand the current dislike for Tomlin, but people who say he should have NEVER been hired are completely blinded by their ire.

Do you think Russ Grimm (the leading candidate before the MT interview) would have led this team to 2 SB appearances? Dude was an absolute dunce. In fact I don't think any coach available in 2007 would have done what Tomlin did- he was a breath of fresh air.

Now I certainly believe Tomlin has mailed it in since that SB loss, but he should get full marks for what he did early in his tenure.

This place is an echo chamber where I think a lot of Tomlin hate or fandom gets sounded off loudly with no or little nuance. Myself personally I think Tomlin is a very capable coach. Not an elite coach, but not average ether. He has his pox marks. Which have been listed endlessly. But I’m not anti Tomlin. My biggest problem with him is that a coach tenured as long as he has been should recognize his short comings and put people in place around him to take those things out of his hands so he can lean more into his strengths. Which I do not believe he has done nearly enough of. So I feel like sure, we could do better. But I feel the gap between Tomlin and the best coach is a far more narrow gap than Tomlin to worst coach. And in replacing him we would more likely take a step back than forward.

You mean TJ Watt? Ya but he is one of those rare commodities that can over come bad coaching. He's probably more effective elsewhere with an actual NFL defensive scheme. Not in Clowns fun house where he'll be worn out by the end of the year.
I see. I guess Steelers only had 1 pro bowler/all pro player in the last 15 years. We never got to watch Heyward, Timmons, Minkah, AB, Bell, DeCastro, Pouney, Villanueva, Shazier, Dupree, juju, Diontae Johnson, Conner.

Ron Rivera would have done the same if not more with those Steeler rosters

Maybe

But Tomlin was young and HUNGRY. I totally believe it when he said he carried all those notebooks around and referenced them- you could see the passion in his eyes that he achieved his dream of becoming a HC.

Remember it was Tomlin who watched tape and noticed in the past few seasons how little the defense blocked when they got a turnover. Low and behold what happens in the 2008 SB? Harrison doesn't get to paydirt without a ton of help. Tomlin deserves tremendous credit for this turning point.

But things came too easy for Mike too early. I've heard nothing strategic come out of his mouth since the Green Bay SB. Certainly nothing like what I typed above. Dude is full of platitudes and cliches.
Just like it was time for Cowher to move on the same holds true for MT. He's had a good run, but let someone else take over.

I'd say the same about Sullivan, too. Job security is not necessarily a good thing in professional sports.

I almost forgot it's the off-season so Clowns staunchest supporters are loud and proud and on the defensive during this time.

But when the season starts and every week looks like **** Clown starts making excuses, throwing players under the bus in press conferences for his poor coaching(per usual) POOF- disappear.

The one thing about the QBs this year is that they are fast. Pickett ran a 4.67. Ridder ran a 4.49. EJ Perry from Brown ran a 4.6. I feel like 20 WR's ran under 4.5.

Willis had an amazing day throwing the ball.

And the talk around Willis and the Steelers is eerily similar to Najee and the Steelers. I fully expect us to move up to get him.

If they do want to trade up for him, hopefully he drops enough where the cost isn’t insane. I still think he goes pretty high but it’s not impossible that he’ll slide.

I don’t think Houston or Detroit are really threats to take a QB at 2 and 3. It seems like Carolina may go OL. I’d imagine the Broncos and Washington would prefer Pickett or a veteran.

Free agency is going to be really interesting to see what happens to some of these QBs.

I wouldn't mind Trubisky at all.

He would be a bottom third QB but we endured that all last year and in 2019. Plus he is REALLY mobile/athletic
