Living in Michigan, I saw a lot of bell. I've watnted him on the steelers, and still do. Just not this early in the 2nd. If we had our usual late pick in each round I'd grab him. As for lacy, I'd rather have Bell. Don't trust Lacy at all.

Also, Bell is a character guy. Wouldn't have to worry about problems.

Great interview. This guy has skills, I know he wasn't who many people wanted until the 3rd rnd at the earliest but I am fine with this reach. I do like Bell over Lacy and the team needs to find a RB. There are other solid options around the board but getting someone like Bell who is a top level human and a great football talent that the team was apparently in love with I am willing to give a chance.

Seems early for Bell, but meh

One thing I caught on ESPN radio that they pointed out that makes a lot of sense, when looking at Lacy. He had one year as the starter - Richardson in front of him, and early in his career, Ingram/Richardson. And he split time with Yeldon.

Yet he still came out of the season beat up. They also pointed out, because of the injuries, he was pulling up on drills on his Pro Day. The same people bent out of shape about not picking him now would want to cut him for a poor attitude if he pulled the same thing in Latrobe.

Good point about Lacy.

Hopes for the 3rd Round receiver at this point are:

Terrance Williams - Baylor - Pretty much a Mike Wallace clone
Markus Wheaton - Oregon State
Ryan Swope - Texas A&M
Stedman Bailey - WVU
Aaron Dobson - Marshall

"couldn't do it medically" said an NFL team to a NFL Network guy in regards to Lacy so for those looking for Lacy to be picked that gives some reasoning.

By that you mean a taller, slower possession receiver type?

Or did you mean to put that by Wheaton?

I've learned not to get too excited or too upset with picks. Adapted wait and see approach after that 08 draft being the most exciting one I've ever seen( mendenhall , sweed, etc) which turned out to be our worst in a long time.

Nope I meant Williams. He had 24 catches of 25+ yards. Averaged 18.9 yds per catch last year and makes most of his plays downfield. I know he's not as fast as Wallace but he's still a downfield threat.

I agree that Wheaton is a downfield thread too and that he IS a speedster like Wallace

I wasn't trying to be a dick M.

I've always seen the comparisons for Wallace to Wheaton. I think of Williams more in the mold of a slightly poor mans Hopkins from this draft. Taller, lean can catch everything, gets deep although not a speedster. More reliable type that can just produce.

Although if Allen is still there he's more dynamic as well as Rogers who's compared to Dez Bryant. Unfortunately it's for more than one reason.

I know Matthieu didn't play this season and is far from a high character guy, but any chance we take a flyer on him in the 3rd round? He has a chance to be the best cb in this class if he can get his act together. He'd definitely contribute on special teams right away.

Nevermind. Honey badger just got taken by the Cards.

I just read the article about him in ESPN magazine and it talked about how close he is to Patrick Peterson and how Peterson has helped him in both getting ready as a player for the NFL and trying to help him with his drug issues. That's the perfect place for him and if he pans out that pass defense is going to be nasty.
