I have a feeling with how Fields is grading out, he's going to go sign a 1 year deal somewhere else for a better WR room and then cashes in. He's been pretty good. He has shown glimmers of his old self and the mistakes he was making.
I really struggle to imagine a QB who's had such problems with coaching and environment deciding to roll the dice again after finding somewhere that works for him.
I also struggle to think of a QB friendly environment that's going to need a guy.
Right now the most likely destination looks like Fields signing some variant of Mayfield's Tampa deal with the Steelers.
He literally had Mooney Moore and Pickens get 1000 yards as he wr 1. He is doing exactly what he did in Chicago the question is can he feed 3 pass catchers if needed weekly
I would argue he's currently a far less explosive, far safer thrower than in Chicago.
But, more importantly, it's going to be very hard to find out if he can feed 3 pass catchers without giving him 3 pass catchers and a scheme where he makes aggressive throwing plays regularly. At some point the team needs to take a leap of faith on him. Or decide it will not do that and they should move on.
