Good for Watt. Well deserved.

Rayvens get lucky the Saints cut L Murray, they'll probably sign him and be fine

Owners have done some really shady shit and a lot of BS goes on with that CBA, so it’s not as simple as saying “negotiate a better CBA”.

Owners pull their BS and power plays to get favorable CBAs and players use the best weapon at their disposal to get max dollars - hold outs.

Fans may get all mad about guys who hold out, but I never do. The players are the ones who pay the physical price in all of this - not the owners or fans.

Players could give a shit what fans think and many are trying to set their kids and future generations up for life financially.

I would do the same damn thing.

It’s a business, nothing more.
I understand it’s not cut and dry with the CBA. Yes the owners are forceful in how they push a CBA to favor them. But also the NFL Players Union is utterly spineless. And that’s on the players it represents for not holding them accountable. I do not support the owners outside of it is a business and you shouldn’t expect them not to treat it that way. But I also won’t support the players beyond what they have agreed too.

They’re promoting Bell and signed Freeman. I dunno if they need Murray. He’s 31 and Freeman/Bell isn’t much of a drop off from him, if any.

Bro, not to be rude, but you just don’t understand the nature of this mismatch.

This is like a Tomlin playoff team going agt Brady and Hoodie - with Kent Graham at QB.

Not 29 year old KG, but today’s 52 year old KG.

Owners, who have been around forever, build up billion dollar war chests off the backs of former players - then threaten lockouts agt present players who could never in a f***ing million years build that kind of “rainy day fund”.

I won’t even get into the way the owners corrupt the union from the inside out.

Fans just have no clue what they are talking about.

So when players hold out, that’s the only time they have any real power in this corrupted meat grinder that is so heavily slanted towards the owners, that it’s truly bananas.

No I fully understand everything you just said. I just don’t have to cheer for the players in what they do outside of their agreements. As well as I’m not behind the owners. All I care about is the team winning championships. Between millionaires and billionaires how ever that happens I don’t really care. I don’t have to truly support ether side.

Nah, you don’t really understand it when you write they need to “negotiate better”.

There is a reason they can’t negotiate better. If someone has a blade to your sack, how much negotiating can you really do?

And once again ya it’s about millionaires and billionaires, but the players don’t give a f*** that you want your championships - you matter zilch to them.

They care about securing their future and generations to come, and they literally have one weapon to utilize agt such a slanted system.

Like any player is worrying about Joe Blow.

Be realistic here.

And as a fan I don’t have to care about them securing their futures. And you are being quite dramatic with knife to the sack.

They could as you said is their right. Hold out. They want things like guaranteed contracts? That’ll come with lower overall salaries and bonuses as well most likely a harder to hard cap. Concessions back and forth. Same with the drug policy. Etc. You give to get. And you have to, since you brought them up, have the balls to face hardship for what you want. Especially in business.

But like I said, I don’t truly care outside of the players getting what they have agreed to and player performing to contracts they signed. And you are right, they most likely don’t care about championships. So that means I do not have to care about the players past what they themselves agreed to. Now go win, that’s what you are paid for.

A figure of speech is now dramatic? Ok…

No matter how much you type out how much you don’t care, it doesn’t mean anything.

Your opinion doesn’t matter to an NFL player.

You think if Watt blew out his knee in a preseason game and he didn’t get his money, he would find consolation that he didn’t let you down for not holding out?

Like cmon.

Players will continue to hold out now and in the future, despite you not liking that they don’t play along with the rules that are utterly stacked agt them.

There is a different between not liking and not supporting. I just don’t support it. Have a contract I am of the opinion you play. You signed a CBA, abide by it. I understand what they are doing I just disagree. But there is no liking or disliking in it. You can not support something but understand why someone does it.

It's good for TJ and it's good for the Steelers. I'm glad they recognized that the way they have done business is not necessarily going to work all of the time. I think the "no in-season negotiations" is a fine rule to have...it forces players agents to come to the table v. having things drag out, but you have to make concessions for your best players.

That’s great, but if you were in their position I highly suspect your opinion on the matter would be much different.

Wait hold on, Watt got $80 million guaranteed and his agent wanted him to hold out and get more?

What a greedy shit

Yeah, I am not getting the whole let's nominate him for Sainthood thing. The kid got paid, and paid guaranteed money. He did not exactly leave much money on the table.

AB is such a sad story. If the dude did not go mental and basically waste three years of his prime, he could have become a top 5 all time receiver

There is something about Brady throwing bombs to AB that makes me feel uneasy.

I’m sure it would. As would if you were in my occupation or myself in yours. That doesn’t really mean anything to the discussion in hand.

It means everything actually.

I simply put myself in their shoes and imagine what I would do, then it makes it easy to realize they don’t give a shit if you want them to follow rigged rules.
