Calling Teryl Austin...As for the D, it was nice to see them stunting on the line to open holes for the LB’s to come in unimpeded. That has been severely lacking all of last season and most of this season. And we saw what happened with Cody Simon getting 3 sacks, 5 as a team and 8 tfl’s. They’re starting to find their rhythm at the best time of the year.
Why we go 3-3 we win the divisionLong term could actually be a good thing wild card wise as I don't see the Steelers winning the division at this point over Baltimore.
I doubt we win three of the remaining games…best case is probably a split with Browns and Bengals and lose the remaining…Why we go 3-3 we win the division

Even Under Russell Wilson, The Steelers Remain Bad On 1st Down
The beatings will continue until morale improves. That’s my view of the Pittsburgh Steelers’ first-down offense. If they’re going to keep being bad at it, I’m going to keep writing about it. While the switch to QB Russell Wilson has produced plenty of benefits, one area where it hasn’t is on...steelersdepot.com
They will sweep Cincinnati they always struggle on defense against the Steelers. Mason and Pickett best games last season were against themI doubt we win three of the remaining games…best case is probably a split with Browns and Bengals and lose the remaining…
Don't even need to open the link. Steelers have a habit of running into stacked boxes on 1st and 2nd down. Which they've done repeatedly over the past 7 years or so.
That leads me to believe that this isn't truly Art Smith's offense. It's Smith's offense with a Tomlin twist (meaning maximizine TOP over yards per play).
Just when I'm starting to be a Tomlin believer, he shows me repeatedly who he is. I f***ing hate the dude.
I really don’t quite get why people think this is the case. Running on early downs has been a staple of every Arthur Smith offense. The offense we have is an Arthur Smith offense.
Tomlin totally believes in his offensive philosophy though which is why he was hired.
So it's £41 currently on PS. Offer is there until 2nd December so will wait for now.CFB 25 is orders of magnitude better than Madden.
CFB isn't perfect but it's by far the best sports game EA has released in years.
Tomlin believes in this when he doesn’t have a top 10 Qb. I do hope they self scout and decide to throw it more on 1st. You know Cincinnati is going to play cover 2 so Muth and Austin should eat. Cleveland as a pure m2m defense should have Williams and GP eatingI really don’t quite get why people think this is the case. Running on early downs has been a staple of every Arthur Smith offense. I was all set to agree until I looked up TOP for Smith's past offences.
Smith's been bottom 10 4 out of 5 seasons. Now he's first.
As such, I struggle to argue with the idea that there's been a change in emphasis that's come from Tomlin. Or, in other words, a Smith offence with a Tomlin twist. I mostly believe that Smith is here because he and Tomlin have very similar ideas and he's doing his thing but on this, I struggle to argue with the bolded. Both in the sense that this isn't Smith, and that this is detrimental.

Too much goes in to TOP (good and bad) for me to draw too many conclusions on that. Feeding Derrick Henry averaging 5+ yards per carry is going to get you down the field faster than feeding Najee Harris at 4 yards a carry. And if we look at his time in Atlanta, he’s getting a lot better QB play than he got there. I don’t know.
This is just the exact offense that everyone told us to expect from Arthur Smith. Running early and often even if it’s not working? Check. Tons of play action? Check. Maddening red zone plays to Patterson? Unfortunately check.
Best case. Ok. It has to be miserable being you.I doubt we win three of the remaining games…best case is probably a split with Browns and Bengals and lose the remaining…
This is exactly right. There were always upsides and downsides to Smith, but Tomlin wanted a conservative, run first, low-risk offense and that's what Smith delivers. Cleveland is the only game I see as a certain. @bmore and @Philly are losses. KC is beatable but problem is they don't ever actually lose. Tomlin ain't beating Mahommes. I could see a split with Cincy but Burrow is going to pick us apart and we never do as good as we should against crap defenses. This week is going to go a long ways is determining the rest of the year imo. 9-3 vs 8-4 with a 2 game losing streak is a big difference. Why we go 3-3 we win the division
KP had his best game in his career against Cincinnati they have no defense or running game. They have a below average o line. The Steelers should have their way with Cincinnati. You put JPj on chase double HigginsCleveland is the only game I see as a certain. @bmore and @Philly are losses. KC is beatable but problem is they don't ever actually lose. and Balt is far superior talent wise than we are. They can easily run the rest of the year, maybe one loss. Our margin for error is so much less than theirs. Can't afford those losses to cleveland the way they can.
Tomlin wants a ball control offense like Detroit and Philly. They have let RW throw it often just not on 1st down nor have they scored an opening drive td this season. This team might be better suited to pass to get the lead and then close it with the running game. The biggest issue is the under center play action getting replaced with the 2 wr late te leak pistol RW used in Denver. I am hoping they self scouted and can make changesThis is exactly right. We are underdogs this week @ CincinnatiI'd imagine the Steelers are underdogs against the Ravens, Chiefs, and Eagles and the favorites against the Browns and Bungles. So they 'should' go 3-3, although, I don't think any of these games are gimmies.
That's kind of silly. I get it's a road divisional game, but they are 4-7 on a 2 game losing streak and the Steelers are 8-3.We are underdogs this week @ Cincinnati

Betting lines aren't about record. They are about the bookie making money. And Cincy is a good team that has been unlucky in close games. Their kicker has lost them 2 games this season. They lost to KC and both Baltimore games by a combined 5 points. They can put up points. That's kind of silly. But they can't stop anybody either. That's why they're 4-7. If the Steelers don't win this game, they are frauds....which is certainly a possibility. The biggest issue is they want to be a run first ball control offense and they suck at running the ball. They are 3rd from the bottom in YPC and that is with Fields having a 4.6 YPC. take away Fields and they are probably the worst team in the league.

Question is, can the Steelers put up enough points to keep pace?
