The Commanders are good, stop emotionally hedging lol

They're not elite though. This isn't a test against the sort of team needed to be a legit contender. As I said, I wonder if that team exists that season, but it's very clearly not Washington. Porous defence in terms of years, inexperienced offence with a QB who can't handle pure passing situations all that well yet, haven't beaten anyone heavyweight this season.

Chiefs pulling out a late bs win against the broncos might actually benefit us late in the season.

Broncos might've been one of the teams we'd be fighting for a wild card spot should the hard rest of the schedule get the better of us.

Kansas being ready to rest guys on the Christmas day would be great too.

edit: Also thinking about it - when's the last time Boswell didn't kick a field goal?

I would be mad if that call on the close first down went against us, so I'm gonna consider this a very lucky win.
And I would have wanted the Warren fumble if the other team has the ball and forward progress was called but wanted forward progress because it was us with the ball.

Sure it was lucky but that’s just one of a handful of 50-50 plays that went either way.

I didn't even think about that, that's a good point.

The more wins the Chiefs rack up before the end of the season, the more chance that late season game is meaningless to them and maybe they rest starters.

That would be huge considering the Steelers are gonna need every win they can get down the stretch.

Washington needs to fix their playing surface.

2 qb's known for efficiency and both guys finish at 50% completion percentage. Receivers slipping out of breaks all day.

You think with one of the best passers in the league they wouldn't want their team playing on a sheet of ice at home.

Commanders are solidly a top 5 team, if that's not a contender I don't know what is. I would say they're behind KC, DET, and BUF but that's about it.

Why have you got them as a top 5 team, out of curiosity?

I say out of curiosity as for me contender = team where I wouldn't be surprised by them beating Kansas when it matters. If that means there's only three contenders in the NFL, I'm okay with believing that. The only potential flaw I see in my argument is the possibility Kansas are no longer that scary either, which might be the case with Mahomes dogging it this season, but I'm going to continue on the assumption it's still going to take an elite performance to beat him this playoffs and being a best of the rest team won't cut it.

I think it’s Detroit Kc as clear top 2
Bmore beat Buffalo and Washington so they are 3. Buffalo gave up 100 yard rushing in 1 Qt against the Colts today but Flacco is garbage
Washington Buffalo Philly and Us are on the next tier

It's pretty amusing to see the usual suspects downplaying this win on the same weekend the Chiefs should have lost at home to Broncos and the Ravens should have lost at home to the Bengals. This isn't college football and you don't play Mississippi State or Purdue where winning by less than 30 is disappointing. They beat a 7-2 team on the road despite having several bad breaks go against them and not playing their best, yet apparently this win doesn't really count either. Ok Peat. Go back to longing for Kenny Pickett.

Probably time to acknowledge being very wrong about the move from Fields to Wilson. Wilson isn't what he was, but he's a legitimate starting NFL QB, something they haven't really had since before Ben snapped his elbow. Tomlin 1, Brightside 0.

That Thanksgiving game man.

With the OL, all I think I'd do is plan on re-signing Moore on a short term deal (like 2 years) and sticking with the group as-is.

Go with Moore-Seumalo-Frazier-McCormick-Fautanu as the starters with Jones, Anderson and another interior OL (Herbig type but I don't think he's under contract for next year) as the backups, just let the young guys grow.

Fautanu is injury prone enough that I like the idea of sticking with Moore, Fautanu and Jones as their tackles as long as they can afford it.

Yeah, they are starting two rookies and missing two starters due to injury - the OL has some potential and while the verdict is still out on Jones, they need to let this play out.
