On the GW TD, directly after the snap, considering the entire left side of the line got beat immediately, I pegged any throw at 0%. Just re-watched the tape and yeah, Russ deserves A LOT of credit.

That ball was 40 yards, in a bucket, from a guy who was falling away, throwing back against the grain a bit. It would have been a beautiful pass had he just stepped up in a clean pocket.

I think Williams covered the return we gave up. Same for Smith. Smith's presence will be huge considering it looks like AH is down for a long while, if not the season. Khan serving up crow for a lot of folks. Some really massive plays by guys who practiced 3 times w/the team to this point.
DL was in Russ' face all game. From all directions. They're gonna get him killed lol. Won't have to worry about anything extension.

they did a lot of things well in this game on both sides of the ball- but the OL is leaving a lot to be desired.

Mike Williams getting more snaps as the weeks go on should be a good thing. This was 1st game all year where I felt the “Van at WR2 situation” was legitimately dire problem instead of a weakness.

Was thinking additional credit to the team for this game being a win the way it was on the road. And at one of the few places fans aren't able to flip the crowd.

I was thinking one more thing to their credit is doing it without needing momentum-turning plays from the defense and special teams, but I forgot about the muffed punt. But still, no picks, no strip sacks, etc.

I don't think the Steelers had any intention of snapping that
I saw somebody (maybe Frazier?) said they didn't even have a play called.

As of November 6th, Moore is PFF's 10th ranked tackle (and indeed above Brown).

I am not great at player comparables for contracts when it comes to the NFL but the possibility that a couple of teams might come really aggressive at him seems a pretty live one to me.

Even if they do see him as Andrew Wylie, with no premium for LT vs RT, then that exact same contract as a percentage of Spotrac's estimated 2025 cap of 273.3m rather than the 224m it was at in 2023 is 3 years at 9.73m. So your proposed offer to him is basically that contract but minus a year. Unless he actively wants a short contract because he thinks he's going to prove it and get a massive contract, that's probably not winning.

You've definitely have a couple guys on offense that have been playing well this season compared to years' past:

Moore
Harris

I wanted both gone, but both have proven pivotal this season. Hard to decide "are they doing better bc it's a contract year or bc they are improving as a player/in a better scheme"

Not as clear cut as it was before the year started.

Well I've been on the "fire Jefferson" train since week 3. Should be Williams and Pickens on the outside with Austin in the slot from now on.

SPeaking of, you wonder if this happens if Austin isn't injured????

I still think RW does a 3/75 Geno deal he needs to work on his HOF campaign. Success in the playoffs with help offset the Broncos paying him to play agaInst them

I will say this for Tomlin.

For all the crap that I give him about idiotic decisions and never learning. And that is legitimate. He on the other hand gets the most out of players than almost any other coach in the league.

And handles diva head cases squeezing production out of them when on many other teams they would, and often do after they leave, spiral out of control.

If I am going to criticize, I am fair enough to give credit.

I'll also need to eat some crow on Tomlin. I think his challenges and clock management are well below the line. I won't give him credit for managing players bc there are still some situations where he doesn't hold players accountable enough.

Buuuut there is definitely good energy on the sideline. I haven't seen players outright quit as they did in years past. Guys are coming out ready to play most weeks and sometimes that is tough with professionals. Hell look at the Danny Smith interactions on the sidelines. The guys absolutely LOVE him and are balling out for him. Haven't seen this sort of "vibe" in a very long time.

Have to also give him credit for going to RW. JF was the safe and easy choice. Kudos to Tomlin for understanding that risk and wanting to be better on the offensive side.

Moore has gotten better every year after he was thrust into the starting role as a 4th round rookie.

First part - yeah it was weakness but I had felt like with how they had been running the offense it wasn’t end of the world. This was first game where impact of having a WR4/5 at WR2 really felt dramatic, IMO.

Agree on GP MW and Austin in slot.

Second part — Probably not.

He is an above average LT with 4 years starting experience he is getting he is getting 15 million a year in FA

I don't know. Looking at OTC, there are thirteen LTs making 15mil or more for an average salary. After that it drops off sharply, #14 is Terron Armstead at 12.876mil and #15 is Ronnie Stanley at 7.5mil.

He does have good traits, he stays healthy and has only missed one game in his career since he became a starter. He doesn't take many presnap penalties (false start etc). He is a decent run blocker.

But don't forget, cause Dan won't let you forget, Dan can't be a swing tackle. So teams are going to take that into account. He gives up a decent amount of pressures and sacks.

I think he gets a deal around 9-11 mil a season for 2-3 years.

Not that it means a bunch but the Steelers are 4-2 against Lamar. Like I said before, I do give Tomlin credit for being able to stymie mobile QBs.

Guys get more and more with every new signing. I will be really surprised and pleased if we can get Moore back at 11 or under.

Stanley is going to get a new contract he is FA after this season. This is his payday opportunity his cap hit this season is 3.6 million. His floor is 2/30 Williams got in Arizona

Stanley and Armstead still got contracts that were 15+ APY though — they just got renegotiated after I think injuries? And I think most of the other LTs would be guys on their rookie deal.

I just can’t see him getting anything less than 11 million considering his age, starting experience, and ability (based on this year). You just don’t see guys like him hit the market too often. A guy like Andre Dillard got 10 million per year and was a backup for the Eagles the year before he hit FA.
