You've definitely have a couple guys on offense that have been playing well this season compared to years' past:

Moore
Harris

I wanted both gone, but both have proven pivotal this season. Hard to decide "are they doing better bc it's a contract year or bc they are improving as a player/in a better scheme"

Not as clear cut as it was before the year started.

Probably all three? Well, four. Improving as a player and being in a better scheme are different things and I think both has happened, particularly with Moore.

I doubt either will be back. I am potentially okay with that even if I think I'd try and keep both. But part of me wonders if they'd have hit the level where we were talking about keeping them before now if it wasn't for Canada. The evil he did will live on for a few years yet.

He’s been basically the definition of boom or bust this year so far. Really low success rate but able to hit big plays at a high enough rate where that doesn’t even matter. Fingers crossed that can continue.

He needs the running backs to handle most of the chain moving. Which they can as long as the OL holds up and teams have to respect Wilson's pass.

This team's kryptonite will be a team that can pressure this OL without having to send a bunch of extra guys and therefore take away the run game while maintaining a high shell. But, tbf, there's not a lot that beats a defence like that other than an elite QB in a mood.

I think the Ravens game is gonna be really interesting. Their secondary has been completely atrocious but they are currently the best team in the league against the run so they may not be able to rely on the backs to put them in great position.

And it may be that their secondary really is bad enough to where that doesn’t even matter but they should be able to play a style that could give the Steelers some trouble.

Love to see it.

Idly wonder what they'll do with OT next season, whether they'll decide on Fautanu on LT and keep Jones at RT. Moving him back at this point seems eccentric

Lamar is 1-3 as a starter against the Steelers. Only win was in 2019 against Duck Hodges when JuJu fumbled in OT. Fairly insane how few times he's faced the Steelers, really.
Yeah, he's been hurt several times and then they didn't need to use him at the end of the season. Jackson is a different guy than when we last faced him. This is a serious test for our defense. The Ravens have been destroying teams with their offense. Porter is going to need to step it up against Flowers, who has been great this year.

Apparently Steeler-fan Twitter loves Russ' "we got 'em" dance from after the offside? A few of the guys celebrated way over the top, I thought, and I know Russ was a little more understated but I could have done without the over-the-top celebrating. I know if was a close game, a hard-fought game and that assured you the win, but geez it was a penalty.

Maybe I'm just old and cranky.

Top 5 PFF grades from week 10
George Pickens - 80.5
Russell Wilson - 79.9
Alex Highsmith - 77.8
T.J. Watt - 76.2
Broderick Jones - 74.0

Take PFF with a grain of salt.

- While I don't know the full assignments, Jones seemed to give up more than "zero" pressures
- Bonkers to give Watt such a low grade. He was often doubt teamed
- Heyward didn't make this list? His fingerprints were all over this game

I don't love it, but if it's between this or the lifeless, boring, going through the motions slog that we see out of the Pens...it's the lesser of 2 evils.

I had no problem with celebrating and the way they celebrated.

I felt similarly. While I like to see the players have a healthy bit of attitude to them (TJ Watt sack celebration, Pickens’ general unpredictability after everything), there was something about it that came across as a little mean & disrespectful.

Switching subjects, would really like to see the team call some deep passes much earlier in the game. It’s going to be way less successful if it is only being employed by necessity in the 2nd half (or at least one would think?). It could also help open up the intermediate passing game - which remains an ongoing problem.

Never liked the whole big celebration thing to begin with, even less so when you win because the other team screwed up.

But there we go. I too am old and cranky.

Every win is a result of the other team screwing up.

i thought we were way to prediable on 1st down. i'll guess we ran something like 90% on 1st down today, even on 1st and 15 after a procedure penalty in the 4th qr when needing a score
that's not opening up things for me. its been better but needs improvement
They have been running the ball well lately. Running it on first down is fine for the most part especially since teams have to respect the passing game now.

That they throw more than ten yards more than once a game is a huge upgrade.

Be thankful for small miracles.

Neither do I. That said, I am admittedly an elitist snob.

It's a fallacy to a degree.

I mean, if I could change three plays a game I likely could make any average team a champion.

Just three.

That is supposition but seems to be true.

What is fact is if you miss only the ten best days out of 7,300 days, twenty years, of equity returns you would lose half the value.

It is the same thing.

This related to the thing about the players celebrating when the other team went offside?

Of course not. It was the idea of 'Every win is a result of the other team screwing up'.

It is like saying when a running back gets 100 yards the team is something like 65 and 2. Well, duh. Teams are running out the clock with the lead.

Just a stat that seems important but isn't.
