Pretty sure Watt was AFC Defensive Player of the Week.Yeah, you know, except for the strip sack that solidified your team losing but I guess that's only one play.
"Their receivers are probably the best blocking wide receivers in the league," Vrabel said on a conference call with New England reporters ahead of Sunday's Patriots-Titans matchup. "When your leading receiver is your best blocker, that makes for a good combination."
N'Keal Harry has earned plaudits for his blocking prowess in recent weeks, but Vrabel was referring to Jakobi Meyers, who both leads the Patriots in receptions (54 through 11 games) and isn't afraid to throw his slender frame around in the run game.
"Absolutely," Vrabel said. "He goes in there, he's fearless. And Harry's a good blocker as a receiver, but Jakobi Meyers goes in there, and he's going in there with a purpose."
Yep, drew aller should return for his senior year at Penn State. He has all the measurables to be a successful NFL quarterback.
Looking more into Meyers, I've fully come around to him if he could be available. He's a slot guy with nice size and ultra consistent production that also grades out really well in terms of run blocking (at least based on the data I've seen). This data is 2 years old but it says that Meyers ranked out as the 9th best run blocking WR of 69 eligible WRs in 2022:

For the third straight season, Jakobi Meyers is the Patriots' best receiver. How does he do it? Let New England's defensive backs explain.nesn.com
And Vrabel is on record saying that he thought that Meyers was an elite blocking WR:

Mike Vrabel has been impressed with the New England Patriots' run blocking this season. And not just from their formidable offensive line.nesn.com
Raiders fans seem to agree with that based on his performance there so far:
His downside is that he's not a fast or explosive player, but he's a prime aged slot receiver that plays a hard nosed and gritty style that seems to fit exactly what Smith wants to run. I think he makes a boatload of sense for this team to be targeting. Good complement to Pickens as the WR2 IMO. I'd honestly even be tempted to trade a 3rd for him because he's also under contract for next year, but a 4th should get it done.
And this may be true. What I like about this situation is that he's getting actually mentored by Russ, which is rare. He has a coach that has loved his game since he was in college. He's working with a stable franchise with a good roster. If Fields cannot progress here, he is done in the NFL as a starter. The situation, aside from being thin at WR, is perfect. We will know what we have in him and that will be that because I cannot see him EVER being set up any better.Fields' struggles are he doesn't have the brain to play the QB at a high level.
At this point I think a trade would have already happened. It's Thursday of a bye week.
I feel like they aren't going to make any moves.
Doesn’t seem like they’ll land any of them quite frankly…think Jets will get a better offer for Williams than the Steelers will part with and he’s the most likely…Pauline saying the Steelers' list is Slayton, Sutton, and Williams. Pinch of salt obviously.
edit: Would explain the inactivity as that's two guys they're unlikely to get but might if they're patient and a fallback option.
I understand the appeal of Sutton but I feel like you can get Myers easier than Sutton and Meyers is younger than Sutton. I think the Raiders would be more willing to sell than the Broncos right now and Meyers probably comes in a bit cheaper.
I think you can get Meyers for a 3rd but the Broncos already rejected a 3rd for Sutton from the 49ers.
While I basically agree with you.
When a team is on a bye week, per the CBA, I believe there are not allowed to be any team activities until the next Monday. They have to be given four consecutive days off and it has to include Saturday and Sunday. Unless the team plays the next Thursday, then they have to come in on Sunday.
Thus, if they traded for Myers, he'd have to just sit around anyways til Monday.

And why would the Broncos (who are in playoff contention) ship out one of their most productive players? I think you can scratch any potential playoff teams off the list, much like Kupp
I could understand the Broncos selling when they're not going to be doing SFA if they reach the playoffs and mightn't get there with their schedule hardening. Let Nix focus more on the WRs his age. Would take a very handsome offer though I imagine.
Also re the 4 days rest thing - honestly it doesn't seem the worst idea in the world to trade for a guy in that period so he can get himself over in a slightly less rushed fashion.

Now it's moot. Russ is here and he's playing. We can clearly see the the doesn’t have much ability to read the field. He has the physical tools but lacks the cerebral. Going from him to Wilson has made that apparent to just about anyone I think.

that going from a young inexperienced kid to a veteran should hold true for "most".We can clearly see that he doesn’t have much ability to read the field. He has the physical tools but lacks the cerebral. Going from him to Wilson has made that apparent to just about anyone I think.
