Tomlin has no update on Calvin Austin and says he is unlikely to participate against the Eagles. Unless he is put on the roster but made inactive for the game sunday, his season is over.

So what happened? Did they take him off IR before he was ready and they are incompetent or can they really not think of anything to do with a 4.3 40 speed guy to help the worst scoring offense in the NFL and they are incompetent?

I'm assuming he had a setback. Can't remember where I read it but they are not expecting him to play this year

Basically he has to be actived tomorrow or his season is over they started is 21 days on Ir clock. He is really rusty dropping passes and punts in practice. If he isn’t able to use his speed he isn’t going to help.

Perfectly stated on another site:

********
What you saw on Sunday is how the Steelers want to play games, of course, minus the turnovers on both sides of the ball. With a new quarterback and a new offensive line, points are going to be hard to come by. The Steelers want the defense to limit points, create turnovers and let the offense run the ball, complete short and safe passes and win it in the fourth quarter. When one or more of those things break down, they will lose.

The problem is this is how Tomlin wanted to play when he had an ALL WORLD QB and a bevy of talent surrounding him!

Tomlin didn’t want to play like that with 7 in his prime. He literally let 7 be 7

Would believe it if it came from anybody but that Douche
I believe they do only run 10 plays there is a ton of motion and eye candy to make it look like more.
Mccvay only uses 2 personal groups in his offense

People mocked the hiring of McDaniel, but I think Miami may have got into the bottom floor of a guy who is really good. Tua sails balls. He sailed balls at Alabama. Honestly, a guy like Zappe probably would have been a really good fit for Miami. A guy like Mack Jones could be a really good fit for Miami. I'm not a Tua fan.

He has a phenomenal arm and release, but his accuracy is booty cheeks. That is the one thing Pickett I think needs to work on also. He needs to drive the ball. He has the arm to do it.

Ya I was thinking Sunday night if Tua had better accuracy that offense would be scary.

His completion percentage is helped by a plethora of low risk throws to Hill. He starts pushing it 15 yards and beyond the ball progressively comes in higher and higher. We should have made him pay dearly. The offense probably would have put up 30 because if I remember correctly all of those dropped interceptions would have put us on a short field.

I don't buy into Hurts. Pretty soon he is due to be out of the lineup because of injury. He isnt Lamar Jackson whom my other team is playing Thursday.

Eagles Steelers should be an ugly game and I wouldn't be surprised if Tomlin dials up a team effort because that's what he does. Never has a loosing season. Ya ya ya ya.

Most of my family is from Philly (having the Philly blood and personality to go with it is why some of you guys hate me I'm sure) but screw them obnoxious ******* I say. Hell most of em dont know I live in Florida now.

Anyone old enough to remember the Steagles in WWII era?

Ya, dude should have had at least four picks that hit DBs right in the hands.

It’s all about luck sometimes.

Talking heads are ripping KP and singing Tua’s praises the last couple days.

However, if Steeler DBs had any type of hands, they would be talking about Tua’s disastrous 4 pick game and how he was brought back too soon etc etc.

It’s nice when Lady Luck smiles on you.

We are completely opposite of what we were in the 2010's. The team was tremendously unlikeable but they could ball. This team is likable, but they suck.

Are they though? Clown, Canada and this crop of diva receivers? Though Pickens so far seems normal. I was wondering if he was related to Bengals receiver Carl Pickens from the 90s

Yeah...I think they are. I am not talking about the coaching. I'm just talking about the players. I find Pickett and Harris specifically incredibly likable and I hope both do well because I think they would be excellent faces of the franchise. I don't see issues with Pickens yet. Claypool is the most unlikable guy on offense and even he isn't that bad compared to the Killer B era. I don't think anyone on defense is that unlikable except for Bush. Overall Cam, TJ, Minkah, and Highsmith are all great guys.

I'm already seeing red flags with Pickens. He will be a problem eventually, too.
I haven't seen anything from Pickens that would show the immaturity that he was rumored to have at UGA. I actually think all things considered he's been a good team player. Tomlin has applauded his work ethic and focus. This could all change in a quick hurry but I think he's been great despite not seeing the ball anywhere near as much as he should.

Pickens is an extremely talented guy who dropped in the draft because of alleged maturity issues, and he plays a position known for diva like behavior.

So I get any concerns people may have he will go down that path like so many other WRs.

Trying to remember when the diva wr act even started… Andre Rison and Irving, then Owens and Moss? Those guys spawned a whole generation of diva WRs I suppose, so now it’s seems common place.

Some pathetic offensive stats (consistent trend with Canada) and an obvious question by Benz - what does Tomlin have to lose by firing Canada?

I guess Tomlin hires the team doctors too.

Dion Sanders and Ricky Watters I remember being divas in different positions. I'm sure there are more that can't think of but early 90s seems when that all started.

I'd love to know what maturity issues they are referring to because I just really haven't seen anything immature from him. Were these off the field things? He has let some frustration show but it's almost cathartic for the rest of us because we agree. Tomlin has praised him. I'm just sitting here waiting for this other shoe to drop with him because currently I'm unconcerned.

He seems more like an eccentric dude than immature. Whether that causes issues who knows

I agree with you. He does seem to have personality. I could absolutely see him being one of these guys that has an alter ego or something and speaking in the 3rd person during interviews when he finally gets the ball as much as he should.

I'll be honest, I think PIckens has every single bit of potential AB had, and maybe even more. I haven't been this impressed by a player since watch Mahomes his first couple of games. Pickens just looks like one of those guys who is going to be the standard for WRs in the NFL very shortly if we can get a scheme that works and Pickett can get more comfortable throwing the ball up to him.

I read about his issues in the spring, but honestly forget what they were.

Something about he thought he was special maybe…

I remember AB was talked about as this quiet dude who worked hard and once he hit the big time he went insane.

WR is a ‘look at me’ position that attracts showboats and temperamental guys, so I just kind of accept that.

I again get the concern given maturity issues red flags with Pickens and Steeler fans watching guys like AB, Bryant, JuJu and now DJ display diva/immature behavior.

Who really knows how Pickens will be, as long as he is a team guy and doesn’t get into off field problems, whatever.

A legit thought I've always had...how do so many DBs have the absolute worst hands. Like it's a critical part of your job description.

You'd think DBs would be spending some time doing catching drills to improve. No pro should let a ball hit their hands clean and still drop it.
