Nice, Canada still not fired. You have to wonder what this idiot could do at this point to convince the team to fire him.

The standard is the standard.

And I win my avatar bet with Big Daddy :)
Yeah you do

Ryan has been overrated for years. The Falcons record with him was terrible 4 straight years.

The immobile pocket passer is a dinosaur in today's game, with Brady as the only exception (and he's cooked this year, but the 2-3 years before this). The Colts will now surely realize it after their failed runs with Rivers and now Ryan.
They guaranteed his contract for 2 more years his cap hit is 35 million in 23 that’s a very expensive backup. Colts need to draft someone in round 1

They aren’t firing him mid season he will be let go at the end of the year. Probably hire whipple for KP. Though Tomlin wants motion sweeps so don’t think the playbook changes just play sequence

Just read a pretty damning stat - Canada has coordinated 25 games for the Steelers and his offense has only broken 20 points 5 times.

At some point Tomlin or Rooney have to say enough is enough.

Canada is a shitty OC and we keep seeing the same pattern of ineptness no matter who the QB is.

Imagine how these putrid numbers would be even worse, if Roth didn’t rescue this offense from the abyss a bunch of times in the second half last season.

the JuJu comment a few weeks ago speaks volumes about this org and Tomlin:

“JuJu Smith-Schuster told me this week it is awesome to have an offensive-minded coach in Andy Reid,” an NFL reporter said during the game. “He has learned more in these last few months in Kansas City than he did in all five years in Pittsburgh.”

Kp definitely has that Ben ‘heroball’ thing where he trys to win it all himself, and makes bad decisions. Hopefully last night shows him he cant always do that. We’ll see, i am kind if discouraged how things went and ended.

A rookie QB shouldn’t be throwing 40x a game. That shit is going to happen when he’s throwing the ball a lot with zero help from the run game.

This is the second time in 3 games he was above that mark, and one of those games he left with an injury.

Roth for comparisons sake never threw the ball more than 30x until almost the end of his second year at Cincy (Dec).

He avg about 20-22 att a game his first couple seasons.

Roth had some wretched stat in his first few years if he threw more than 30+ he would always lose.

He had something like 11 picks in his first 4-5 games over 30 att.

Yeah like you obviously don't want to lose games like that, but he needs to make those mistakes in the NFL to learn what he can do and what he can't do in the NFL. If he never pushes the pace like that and tries to do too much, he'll never learn to maximize what he is capable of doing in the NFL.

Yeah Herbert threw it over 600 times as a rookie the game has changed since Ben threw it under 300 times his rookie year. Guys like Carr Murray threw almost 600 times as a rookie. Luck threw it over 650 as a rookie Peyton got to over 500. Mason in 10 starts in 2019 almost got to 300

Everything is predicated around an inability and unwillingness to throw the football intermediate and over the middle. When the defense collapses, everything is more difficult. So stupid that we continue to tolerate this incompetent coordinator who won't draw interest above the mid major level next year.

Yeah some of those decisions would fly in college but he won’t get away with them now. Which is fine as long as he learns from it.

He’s also going to learn that he doesn’t have a Jordan Addison type of player right now to cover up some of his mistakes.

Herbert was what? 2-9 in his first 11?

Murray won 4 games his entire rookie campaign.

Manning’s first four games he had 3 TD and 11 picks, and that was with Faulk and Harrison in tow.

Manning won 3 whole games his rookie year.

Even really good and legendary QBs rarely come out of the gate like Roth.

And when he threw a lot early in his career, once again the results were ugly.

People need to relax and let things play out.

Ohs nos they lost! Like this team was going somewhere.

A rookie QB on a bad team with poor coaching and the worst OC in modern Steelers history, and people expected this team to win?

Big daddy wants the Tomlin NHALS campaign to continue so bad that he would go Full Trubisky the rest of the year.

Doesn’t matter how badly Tomlin wants it. It’s ending this year. Maybe for the best because getting blown out in the playoffs apparently isn’t embarrassing enough for the organization.

Herbert ended up starting in week 2 his rookie year and the Chargers went 5-11 that season

damn zappe looks good.
I thought Zappe would have been a really interesting guy to bring into the fold if we were able to use a late round pick on him. I wouldn't personally have thought he was going to be a 4th round pick, but he ended up in the most perfect situation. He has talent, as can be seen with how he lit up FBS last year. What you're really seeing is a talented guy and what a HOF coach is able to do to maximize his talent. The Pats are making it easy for him to be successful, unlike our shmoes with Trubisky and Pickett.

Wins and losses don’t matter. If KP was the best pro ready prospect in the draft stop babying him. He was a gunslinger in college let him rip it

No I am done with Mitch but another 3 interception game by KP doing is best Duck I am going back to MR

Who is babying him?

Your comment lacks common sense.

The whole point is the more a rookie throws, the more mistakes he will make.

He shouldn’t be throwing 40 or 50 times a game, because that means the running game is ass.

When the running game is ass and your rookie QB has to throw 40-50x a game, your aren’t going to win many games boss.

It’s not difficult to understand what my point was.

Going back to MT makes zero sense. He’s a journeyman that playing him serves no purpose.

Not KPs fault your ass is all crusty because you took a stupid bet.

Yeah, they can’t go back to Mitch now. The minute Pickett got in you can’t go back (unless he is hurt). It just wouldn’t make sense

I would rather Kenny continue being the way he is even if it results in interceptions. When this team is actually good, how he plays football with be conducive to winning. He just has to real in the "Heroball" a bit. Love that he wants to make a play, but he has to learn to live to fight another day. Ben had a problem with that also.

A22 look at the last pick. Still a throw you can’t make but probably one he doesn’t once he gets more of a connection with Johnson.

It looks like there is a play to be made if he holds off on his throw another second or two.

There's two options that look like would've been better decisions.

Obviously he could learn not to take a risk in that moment, tuck it and try again next down closer to the goaline, an acceptable decision.

And as you point out there looks like there's a play to be made if he could also learn to pull up before crossing the line and before the oncoming linebacker gets to him, looks like he would've needed just an extra second or so, as just as he's throwing the ball the safety bites on rushing the line to support the linebacker trying to prevent Pickett running downfield, leaving the deep middle of the endzone wide open.

If he was more used to that scenario and waited the extra second or two which it seems like he would've had, instead of a risky back-shoulder throw to the pylon before Diontae had fully turned to the ball, he could've thrown it deeper towards the back of the endzone and away from the sideline. The defensive back would've had a hard time keeping up with Diontae as he'd yet to turn to look for the throw.

Rodgers and Mahomes make a living off that kind of feint, drawing in coverage to prevent their rushing before pulling up and throwing behind them for larger gains.

If he has the arm strength of those two to get it there with his momentum taking him sideways is another story but hopefully.

Tomlin has no update on Calvin Austin and says he is unlikely to participate against the Eagles. Unless he is put on the roster but made inactive for the game sunday, his season is over.

So what happened? Did they take him off IR before he was ready and they are incompetent or can they really not think of anything to do with a 4.3 40 speed guy to help the worst scoring offense in the NFL and they are incompetent?
