Since it's a midseason tournament I would assume they had no extra time to reduce playing time.

3 of NSCs games went to PKs so that would have been an entire extra game if they did added time first.

That’s fair but they could have at least done it for the championship game.

Let me say as a Southerner that I'm more than a bit amused by the amounting of complaining by tennis players at the US Open about the heat. 93 is just a regular summer day down here and all kinds of teams are practicing sports, heck even band kids are out in that. Those are kids, you are telling me a grown adult can't handle 93? Imagine if they had do something like put a roof on a house in this.

Let me say as a Midwesterner that they're completely right and y'all're crazy. That's 20 degrees above my comfortable operating temperature (used to be 30). :p: ;)

I spent a couple of college summers working construction on the Cool Springs Galleria and the no-longer existent movie theater. One of the first things to be built was the big sign next to I-65 that showed the time and temperature. It was like a tormentor, reminding me every day just how damn hot it was with no shade to be found. Makes me truly appreciate office jobs.

I started out as a sprinkler fitter for JBS on the de novo install team. Which mean we came in after the steel and concrete were poured, the only think worse than heat on the 20th floor of a new building (before windows were installed) were the winter's wind.

Dunno done two things that were pretty rough, although for different reasons.
Hauling hay in that heat is something I hope I never need to do again.

2nd would be doing band camp at the start of August on astroturf carrying a tuba. That was so hot my mom had to go get a meat thermometer to read the temperature because a normal digital one just maxed out and shut off instantly. You could lay down on it and the heat radiating felt like someone giving you back massage. Had to throw my shoes away after that week because it melted the glue and the soles peeled off. The parents went to Walmart and got massive coolers and kept them filled with ice and would take turns running wet towels to put around our necks. They started doing that once kids started face planting.

Plus they play the Australian Open every year which routinely hits temperatures of over 100.

at 16 I worked during the summer in the pipe yard for Evans &Hailey. Basically stacking 6" schedule 40 pipe hubs. Heat never really bothered me other than the actual pipe being so hot to touch. I was focused on getting bigger by carrying all that pipe. I'm pretty sure, all I did was get sunburned, dehydrated and lost weight. But I thought I was getting tanned and buff.......

Reminds me of the summer I was working in a cabinet shop that had no AC to start with. To top it off we were having issues with painted cabinets fish eyeing due to the humidity in the walls. They shut all the doors and turned the heaters on. It was 97 outside and felt like AC when you went out there. Only time I can remember walking in somewhere and instantly having sweat running off your nose.

IMO it's been proven multiple times that you can't trust most of what they propose and say, but Murfreesboro mayor and city council are talking about relocating Cannonsburgh Village and building a minor league baseball stadium...

Well they will probably move it anyways. Seems about up to par for them after what they did with MLT and the old cabin.

The day I got married was 107° (according to the time and temperature on the bank nearby) and the AC and lights went out in most of the chapel. Now granted we weren't lobbing tennis balls back and forth but I daresay that my attire was a little more constricting and a lot hotter. I got through it, they can deal with it.

As a caution to you younger folks don't plan a 4PM wedding in Nashville in late August--or at the very least get a modern building. Not our wisest move, for sure.

Not sure if you read the article but they need to do something with that area regardless. Shane specifically references the trailhead usage there and the likely reason behind it. I don't go that way on my running route anymore because it gets super sketchy around that area. Of course they need to clean up the area between Cannonsburgh and the train tracks near Panther Creek while they're at it.

I'm not sure what you mean on the trust front. This may or may not happen, who knows, deals always fall through. Conspiracy theory I guess could be they move the village under the guise of it being because of a minor league team and then that deal falls through... but they had no real plans of going through with the deal anyway.

This is quite possibly the first Boro development proposal in awhile that I would be in full support of moving forward. The other one was the Sazerac distillery off Florence Rd. but seems that must have died because I have not heard a peep about it in a few years.

Oh I don't doubt it needs to be done, but that groups reasoning and ultimate motives ain't exactly been on the up and up. They promised to resettle MLT as part of what happened, they never did.

I'll be honest. I've been in the Boro since the mid-90s and have no idea what MLT is? Maybe it was just something I didn't care about. Which isn't an intent to demean it as I understand it must mean something to at least one person based on this dialogue!

It was the oldest community theater group in Murfreesboro, it had been around since the 60's. They had spent thousands refurbishing the old cabin the city owned and was built in the 1930's by the Boys and Girls Scouts, someone decided they wanted that property, they sent the city inspectors in and condemned it.

I don't know about the bolded part but I did find the article on the part after the bolded. Who wanted it? And what did they do with the property?

I think it was MTSU and frankly haven't been by there to see what they did with it. Lots of promises the city made aren't in that article though.

City never did find them an alternative place, and when asked about at least partial reimbursement on the siding they had just installed within the last year the city went quite.

I'll also add the very thing they condemned it for when pointed out the previous year they said it was fine.

I was in PA over Labor Day and they were having a bunch of festivals and fairs and on the news they were talking about people going to these events should be taking precautions and staying hydrated. They were talking about canceling outdoor after school activities, dismissing early.

It was in the upper 80's.

Take away from the Tennessee/Austin Peay game, MTSU needs to pick up the phone and hire them a new football coach that is currently in Clarksville.
