I don't really watch much MLS so how prestigious is the League Cups. I'd assume less than MLS Cup?
Do most of the teams start their best rosters for it? I'm assuming so since Messi is dominating it but I know some of the lesser European competitions you see a lot of the second team starting. It's a brand new competition featuring all the teams from MLS and Liga MX (Mexico).
Imagine if randomly in the middle of the season all the NHL teams had a tournament against say all the KHL teams. It's basically what the Leagues Cup is.
You'd much rather win MLS Cup but it's still a trophy and by making it to the final Nashville automatically qualifies for the CONCACAF Champions League next year.

I will say I do like how there are different achievements in soccer that are actually worthy of winning. Unlike hockey where people seemingly don't care about the President's Trophy or regular season conference championships.
I saw a picture on Twitter (I mean X... ) of some resale tickets on TM going for $1800 - $2300! Some might have gone for over 3k!Good Lord. I scored a STH presale code and the tickets start at $300

Nashville Stars Twitter account is doing a ticket giveaway if anyone wants to try.
You do but I don't think Stubhub/Ticketmaster/whatever have to report it to the IRS until you hit some specific threshold. My bookkeeper brain wonders if you have to legally enter the gain as income for tax purposes?
Mr Adz and I have an agreement, which I've mentioned in the past. If it's hockey (for me) or Springsteen (for him) it's in the budget and the other is welcome to join in. Obviously, paying $28K would never even be considered but he paid over $1000 for 2 tickets for Springsteen on Broadway and I paid $600 for tickets for 2 for the All Star Game Weekend. ($150 each, but it was a lot at one time). So I get that sometimes you want to go enough that you say to heck with the price--I'll just reduce my spend elsewhere to make up for it. Those are the only two things we don't discuss and have the option to just press the buy button, but after 40 years (on Sunday!) we've got a pretty good savings built up to take care of any splurges. We could not have had that agreement in year 1 or even year 15.You do but I don't think Stubhub/Ticketmaster/whatever have to report it to the IRS until you hit some specific threshold.
On a related note, I really wish they would do something about the insane ticket scalping. It's crazy that someone can provide no value and make thousands of dollars just by reselling tickets. A law where tickets can only be resold at face value would solve the issue, but I guess to many people are making money at this point so that won't happen. Either way its insane to me that there are that many people willing to shell out thousands of dollars for a one night event (for instance with Taylor Swift). Like I'm a huge sports and music fans but I can't think of a single event I'd pay that much to see. I have a hard enough time being willing to pay face value for events nowadays.
I don't know if I would have sold my 2 $133/each tickets for any amount but something like that would definitely have made me think about it.
Seriously, if someone is crazy enough to give you that for one, take the money and run

Some bands are starting to do this. Pearl Jam for instance sets it with Ticketmaster so that tickets cannot be transferred. The only option you have for "reselling" is to put it up on the fan to fan ticket exchange at list price. Cannot go higher.
It came down to the freaking goalies kicking PK’s…..So Nashville lost in an 11 round PK shootout yesterday.
I know that's how all of soccer does it, but holy crap I think it's awful to settle championships like that
I thought that was the finals for the championship?A tough way to go out for sure. I thought our boys were the better team for 89 and half minutes.
The other side just had the GOAT for those other 30 seconds.
Now back to the regular season and the push for the playoffs. Cincinnati has a cushion in 1st but the 2-9 spots are only separated by a couple of games including the Boys in Gold at 6th. Messiami are in last place and 14 points out of the 9 spot. They essentially have to win out and get some help to make the playoffs playoff.

I'd liken it to having the Olympics thrown into the middle of the season but instead of various players representing your country in a tournament that has no real relation to your own league you're representing your team. It's odd. Wish we could have won but we held our own. I think those who were expecting a Miami blowout because they had an ace player were pretty surprised, including that ace player. Messi was worn out by the end of regulation. NSC -- still "Champions of Life". ;-)I thought that was the finals for the championship?
