Titans finally signed DeAndre Hopkins. Hopefully works out better than Julio Jones did.
He signed for considerably less than the talking heads were saying so at least that part is good. I don't know if he will be that great but I think it will work better than Julio did.

I think he’s still got some gas in the tank. He paced for almost 1400 yards last year.

This one could be interesting. A lot of people (myself included) thought Julio was going to open up that offense. We all know how that worked out. With DHop I have no expectations so who knows maybe we get the impact we were hoping for with Julio.

I think the best case is that he is a formidable WR2 that helps take some pressure off Burks (who takes a step forward) and between the two of them it helps take some pressure off the oline and opens up Henry.

Y’all haven’t watched DHop play if you are comparing him to the Julio Jones the Titans traded for

A lot of chatter about Moss, Andre Johnson, and Julio coming to Tennessee and being duds. I don’t see DHop in that tier. He’s still a WR1. The QB play and type of offense with Henry will be what could slow him down.

For sure. I saw quite a bit of positive analytics about DHop's last season. Here are a couple:

When it comes to the Titans until one of these big names actually shows up and does something they are going to be questioned. It doesn't really matter who or what his name is.

That's absolutely fair. But on the flip side all we can do is be optimistic and look for reasons why it will work out.

I am also optimistic and I simultaneously want him to work out even more so just because of all the whining and gnashing of teeth from the national media who say his career is over now that he's in Nashville.

I want him to do well but until he actually does it I'm in a meh kind of mode. He's like the 5 or 6th receiver that everyone is supposed to be hyped over and none of them have done a thing.

Noted. Thank you for letting me know how I am supposed to feel.
It was a general statement, and you know that.

The bigger problem is that maybe we don't have the right guy distributing the football. But I will be cheering for Tannehill and hopefully this helps give more balance to the offense.

This is all about a person's own reaction. I'm not really hype about anything other than knowing 2 WR sets will now be Burks and Hopkins vs. Burks and Westbrook-Ikhine. That's enough for me to assume a positive trend but also assume an 8-9 win ceiling.

The larger problem for the Titans is whether the Jags ascension is hype or real. If it ends up being real then we might be in for some long term trouble. The Texans and Colts are on year 1 of their new QB experiments. We're on the tail end of our current one. Best case scenario will be for the Texans/Colts QBs to bust and for one of either Willis or Levis to develop behind Tannehill and actually be average to above average qbs. I don't see Lawrence busting.

I think the Jags will be "good" but they don't scare me yet. They are/are going to be the media darlings and I assume the favorite in Vegas to win the division, but the Titans should compete to win it as well.

I won't count out a team coached by Vrabes. I have seen to many games where the roster is in shambles yet we throw in practice squad guys and get play way above their heads. He has a way of getting the most out of guys who buy into that gritty style.
