Because in baseball it's just something you don't do is argue balls and strikes. From the majors all the way down to little league that has been consistent for decades. Every single player and coach on the field has known it since they were kids.

Now you want to argue a missed tag at the plate, a foul ball, etc. then have at it. Celebrating is fine as long as it's not done to target an individual player, that's when you start going too far imo.
agreed with all this.

People would have been ok with the over the top celebrations and bat flipping, but it’s their reaction to other teams doing it that people take exception to. Getting angry and acting like a spoiled brat because other teams give it back is going to rub people the wrong way. The coach threw a bat that was flipped back at Auburn, UT players whined about Alabama’s normal celebration, the Centerfielder pounding the wall after every HR hit against them. Disrespectful behavior towards the opponents and umpires is going to get negative attention.
I must have missed those occurring. Would love to watch a clip or 2 if there are any. Not saying you are being dishonest, I just haven’t seen it.

Alabama celebration
Vittelo bat throw vs Auburn that almost started a brawl

Gilbert has been seen pounding the fence a few times after HR’s.

Think of this, their pitching coach has had more ejections than the rest of the SEC Combined.

Vitello and his players remind me of the Steve Spurrier Florida teams. As a UT alum, I hated his antics. But you couldn't help acknowledge his success. I understand that Vitello's teams haven't enjoyed the success that Spurrier's teams did. At least not yet. And it's possible they never will. As a Vol fan, the past 2 decades have been miserable. So I enjoyed the hell out this baseball team. Never for a second expected them to win it all. Wasn't surprised they didn't make it to Omaha. Don't care. It was awesome seeing a Vols team give the bird, literally and figuratively, to everyone who enjoyed their demise since the latter days of Fulmer as a head coach.

So the 2 seed Stanford went 0-2....

CWS seems even more difficult to win than March Madness. I never really paid much attention before.

Remaining teams are all SEC(including Oklahoma) except ND

You think you cam hurt me??? I was a Boston fan in the 80's

I live near Watkins Glen Racetrack. It's race weekend. Lot of Floridians and they brought something like the flu.

Am I the only one that worries that Malik Willis is a sidearm run first QB?

Nah. You can see he's got the natural talent, he just needs to learn how to play in the NFL versus college.
The plan was never for him to come in an immediately take over. Give him a season or two to marinate.

Ousted about the Blaze v Riverdale game in the other thread but what a game.

I’m guessing at least 8 D1 players in that game and that’s with one state’s leading right end not playing due to suspension.

How did Justin Brown from Blackmon look? He recently committed to my alma mater Mississippi State.

He had like 90 yards receiving 2 TDs 13 yards rushing and a TD and an interception on defense. We have 2 Miss St commits. Jacob Page had 77 yards receiving no TDs this week.

You know Georgia is pushing Brown hard now too.

Interesting info on Page. He must be privately committed? Haven't heard his name discussed in a few months.

I’m sorry Page has not committed he was offered.

Nick says he thinks Page ends up at Clemson or UT.

Ben Marshall the tight end committed to Cal. Everyone thought he’d commit to Vandy or Ole Miss. I’ve known that kid awhile he’s a huge ND fan. ND has not offered. Ben might be the best of those 3.

Nick says Terrence Carpenter committed to a D1 school but didn’t know who I think TSU and Jack Risner the QB has offers but he didn’t know with who but said Memphis and like UNC Charlotte. He did visit Miss State but did not see an offer. He’s a big kid with a strong arm. iMHO he should have stayed with baseball.

So the shift is partially dead in MLB and there will be a pitch clock and larger bases. As a relatively casual fan I'm totally down for the rule changes, but interested to see what the more hardcore baseball fans on here think.

Im not a hardcore fan now but I lived and breathed for it when I was a kid. Larger bases would be like changing the size of the net in hockey.

Limiting where players in the field can stand is also shit. If you dont want to face a shift, learn to hit the other way.

I'm fine with a pitch clock, think that's long overdue
