OT: The OT Thread: To move or not to move, that is the question.

The wifey and I are going to the Bills game this weekend (unless it's Monday night), and Im so psyched. I missed her so much when I went to Bills game. She'd go to one every year or so, and it'd be a blast. Watching all those couples have a good time at the game crushed my soul while we were separated. Im just so happy I'll have her with me again.

Congratulations on getting back together!

Feeling fluffy, so I am going to go back to tracking my food in MyFitnessPal and try and limit my calories to 2000 per day.

I feel like trash this morning after doing it yesterday.

:banghead:

The scenery must be quite beautiful because I don't know why anyone would want to live in California with the fire and earthquake risks. This is a different fire that could but hopefully won't start burning blocks of businesses and homes.

Good thing the world is heading to an end. Imagine still having to talk about not making the playoffs in the next 10 years.
Things are going to get wild. This country and world dumbfound me sometimes. Whatever, though, I just focus on my family and friends, and refrain from social media like Twitter and Reddit* + 'enterainment news' (which I still believe has been one of the most detrimental things to this country over the past 25 years or so). You'd be surprised to see how much of the propaganda our patients consume in a given day. Every 2 mins there's some 'breaking news!' and *insert something to outrage people*. It's no wonder there's so much tension in this country.

* I do venture over to Reddit after a bad Dolphins/Jets/ insert football team I'm mildy annoyed by loss to read the crazy hot takes from their fans. Im a psychopath. I realize this isn't normal behavior, haha.

As someone who works in home insurance for a living and am licensed in 49 of the 50 states, the fires in CA and other things are absolutely insane. The amount of people who simply can’t get insurance on the open market is insane. And costs for those who can is astronomical.

On top of the destruction, loss of life and other aspects to it, it is certainly a hard state to live in. But there are many factors that keep people there. CA/TX/FL are the hardest and most expensive states to insure in.

I would live in Northern California in a heartbeat.

The insurance companies know with how poorly the land is managed in CA and the amount of risk that comes from it.

Coastal SoCal, say Santa Barbara to San Diego, arguably has the most agreeable climate on the planet. The beaches and headlands are gorgeous. Loads of cultural attractions and events. The appeal is obvious to anyone who's lived there or visited.

The changes to relative humidity and fuel moisture levels are way outside the realm of a simple land management issue. Massive swaths of California forests are beyond stressed - I have seen estimates of up to 80% of trees in the Sierra Nevada Mountains are dead due to drought. There is no group of land management agencies that can remediate that.
