2024-25 Rockford Icehogs season

Korchinski caused a little brawl to start which is good energy to see

He did this quite a bit in juniors but since hasn't carried over much. But he was a 19 year old going up against grown men last year. This is nice to see he isn't backing down again.

Lev's production has cratered since Nazar and Dach got called up.

There's no talent in Rockford anymore. Literally all of their top guys are in the NHL now.

Yeah Korch has kinda cratered as well....no talent.

So you expect Korchinski and Levshunov to create everything offensively or for AHL/ECHL guys to bury chances by any pass they give them? Joey Anderson and Cole Guttman are solid AHL players but that's literally it. And both guys don't play on the same D pairing.

No I was agreeing with you. Kinda like Jones coming in and putting up 51 pts when the Hawks had guys who could score and then taking a hit in production the last couple years.

If you don't have forwards that can score D production will take a hit.

I thought he looked good with the Hawks this season. Far better than last season. Just wasn't putting up points.

I feel like he should be able to make the roster fulltime next season.

I agree.

It's going to be really packed this off-season on D.

Vlasic, Korchinski, Del Mastro and Allan on the left side.

Jones, Murphy, Crevier on the right side. Brodie as a 7th.

We should not bring in anyone clearly, and the eventual injuries will hit, but one of those young guys is going to lose our on a spot early.

Was he that bad defensively? All I really remember was good motor, small, and quick.
Not to me. Love his game. I'd like a roster that attacks in waves and just outscores their problems. Guttman brings three positives like you said. Great motor, good wheels and above average offensive talent. I want that in my bottom six.

NHL coaches for the most part don't. They want low event forwards that can just eat hard minutes with nothing happening for either team.

To me a guy like Athanasiou is an elite fourth liner. Pair him with a sound defensive center and winger that bring nothing offensively. Let them chip pucks in front of AA and let AA be a monster in transition. Pair him with a sound nothing Swede/Fin center and a hard working nothing big North American winger and you've got a fourth line teams have to be afraid of.

Korchisnski's a smooth skater and certainly better 4 way mobilty, espcialll to walk the blue line. I do see the lack of explosiveness/straight line speed that plagued Boqvist though

The sh*tting on Boqvist here is funny though, because the board incessantly defended everything he did when he was Korchinski's age

KK doesn't look anything like Boqvist, including skating.

They both lean heavy on their offensive ability. Boqvist busted. Too early to say for Korchinski. Just because one busted, doesn't mean the other will. KK's at least got good size to fall back on if need be.
